I love things like this. Motorized scooters are today where motorcycles were 100 years ago. They start out small, but continue to get bigger and stronger. I another 20 years we are going to start seeing 18" wheels and monstrously powerful motors capable of highway speeds.

I mean I'm about to buy a seated electric scooter that's $1,580 including shipping and handling / tax and it tops out at 60mph with 60 mile range, hydraulic brakes, steering damper, turn signals, dual ultra bright LED headlights, dual suspension and fat 11 inch tires. It's not classified as a motorcycle but it might as well be haha. I have no need of going that fast as I'm staying on the streets, but I could ride on some highways if I wanted to, it's just better to have quick pickup when riding around. There are already motorcycle style electric scooter bikes you can get for 3 - 4k, but they don't have a great range, only like 40ish miles, and you can't transport them like you can a scooter. But in a few years when batteries are better these will be amazing

Just with the single engine it goes up to 40mph on 3rd gear, when dual engine mode is engaged you burnout super easily and accelerate CRAZY fast, the speed is scary, but I've never felt more stable on a scooter from the damper alone. Build quality is great for the brakes, suspension, and lighting, the only area a little weak is the stem, you can flex it if you push forward, but when riding I've had no issues, I just wish it was a little less flexible there, I'm pretty sure I can change the bars if I really want to. Drums brakes are an absolute no no at this price. The suspension is lacking especially in the rear as you stated. No steering damper. No hydraulic brakes. There are just too many inferior components on this scooter at this price. I challenge you as an expert reviewer to look at "budget Scooter brands" and see how they compare. Yume Y11 Pro is destroying this scooter and at nearly 1/3 the cost is has way more modern tech. Thanks again for an awesome review

@c4pt1n54no3 ай бұрын
For the charging speed aspect, faster will cause more wear but that one is so low powered adding a second would still probably not even make them get much warmer. those Samsung batteries are rated for a minimum 0.5C normal charge rate, or in other words about two hours to full as C rating is charge current compared to capacity. Any pack that takes longer that two hours to fill is charging below 0.5C, in this case 6 hours would mean not even a 0.2C charge rate. The same Samsung batteries are rated for up to 4C quick charge, this is where you'll see more noticeable degradation especially without cell cooling, but in this case doubling the charge current would be pretty safe as far as cell longevity is concerned.

One thing I always found strange when it comes to configuring scooter software, regardless of brands - choosing a top speed for each drive mode. Unless you're lending your scooter to a kid or otherwise inexperienced rider, why would anyone limit the top speed in any drive mode? Throttle response, eco mode, braking intensity, sure, but it seems arbitrary to lock yourself into a speed range, when basic physics will limit you just fine. These things go 80km/h (~50mph) tops. I've got an Apollo Phantom (V3) with 3800kms on it (~2400 miles), and though I'm good at doing routine maintenance (tightening bolts, lubing suspension/hubs/stem), and I've had to change tires on mine a few times - I still haven't had any issues with overheating, nor have I had any flat tires, and the stem has been solid. I'm 195lbs but I rarely hop it off a curb taller than 3 inches - and I'm wondering where all these people who crack stems are coming from. I always have the regen set to maximum - and aside from a couple of emergency stops where I've had to use my hydraulic brakes, I've used the regen exclusively. Having a dedicated regen lever is possibly the one thing that sets Apollo ahead of all other brands for me. Takes a while to get used to how regen braking resistance works, but I find it to be far superior to any braking other than immediate, emergency stops. It's smooth, predictable, a LOT stronger, works on both wheels, and you won't skid your rear wheel except on gravel or loose dirt. No matter how good your disc brakes are, they're gonna make some noise, they're gonna grind, and wear down pads. Regen is almost silent. I'm definitely considering the Pro as my next scooter - dedicated regen is tipping the scale over some super high performance scooters in its price range. Plus, you can fold it, pick it up and put it in your car. I'm pretty strong, my Phantom is about 100lbs with its stem bag & tools & chunky bike lock - but I won't be looking for a scooter that goes 130km/h & weighing 130lbs+.
@Jamesbsc5 ай бұрын
How have you liked your Apollo scooter? They seem to get a weird amount of heat for build quality, but they also seem to care a lot about built quality.
@OhGawdHesGotAGun5 ай бұрын
@@Jamesbsc I don't have anything to compare it to, brand-wise. I had a '22 Ghost, which I put about 2k kms on, which I would never recommend. I've got 4300kms on it now - I put hydraulic brakes on it first thing, but rarely use them thanks to dedicated regen braking. A bolt for the handlebars has stripped, making them creak a lot, Some bolts are just too wimpy - but the stem has always been steady, without fail. I'm 195lbs & though I don't jump off curbs often, I've put the frame under a lot stress, with no issues, bends or cracks. Apollo went from making generic scooters that nobody should've been on - rickety crap - to the most innovative in the business, so you'll get a lot of people unhappy with older designs. Their service WAS bad at one time, but they've been great with me, customer since July '22. Parts were tough to find, and Apollo presented themselves as a client-friendly company, but find ANY brand who can claim "yes, it's in stock, we'll send it now" or "we're sorry that broke, we'll send a new one right away". I think a lot of people thought these scooters were like vehicles that required no maintenance. I've had to order parts a few times, had tech questions about what kind of tubes to get with tires, what bolt is this, do you have any, etc. They always answered me right away'ish and gave *pretty* good advice. But I've been scooting for over a year now & think I know where I can get parts & know how to fix anything mechanical. The thing about the Phantom is, you have to be vigilant in keeping all possible bolts tight & the tires at 50 psi. I rarely grab the scooter first thing in the morning & just go, I'm checking tire PSI, checking the lug nuts, and every few days, the bolts that hold the silver rims that connect the wheel hemispheres together. Then I'll lube the stem & shocks every week or so - but honestly, it's 10 mins per week, maybe. Changing a tire is hard & tedious, though. If I was gonna get ANY scooter, it'd have to have tubeless tires. The Pro is really pretty awesome. Portable still, yet 12" tires, IP66, dedicated regen braking, etc. I'd get one before a Nami Klima or Klima Max, but the Nami Burn-E2 Max has to take the crown for "best scooter you can fit into a car somehow".

Do they just make up these prices?
@alvaroramirez50866 ай бұрын
That’s RS money, and I get that this and an RS are two different scooters but I just don’t see where this makes up for everything the RS does better. It’s a nice looking scooter but I’m not sure the looks can single handedly distract you from the price.

The funny thing about this scooter is you may as well keep it in LUDO Mode.

this is similar in price to the aniiokie A8 Pro Max 52V Dual Motor Ebike out of the box with no sale price so both do same speeds an the latter has 200mile rang. with swap-able batteries. but this ev razor is nice in its own right. the cheapest sketcy high speed ev reazor like it in speed was like 850 i found with china cells only con to pro was it had 4.5 stars.

The regen brake is meant to slow it down as much as it can but you still have to use the actual brakes on it. I had mine as well only had two incident with it just have to be care to wear some safety gear on .

not going to brag or anything but my Kugookirin G3 pro which has dual 1200w motors and a 70 kmh top speed is way better for the price and its 1200 dollars and has everything this scooter needs from hydraulic disk brakes dual spring shock absorbers and it feels quicker than this Apollo

This or a segway gt2? Can you tell me since you tried both
@danpettis16756 ай бұрын
I have the GT2. and a friend of mine has the Apollo, and I have took it for a good ride. My Segway is by far a superior scooter in performance, quality, looks. the Apollo in my opinion looks Goofy. no hydraulic brakes . non adjustable rear suspension. with rubber bushings. not a whole lot of value for $3800. do yourself a favor save yourself $800 , and get the GT2 you won't regret it
@tazerz96 ай бұрын
@@danpettis1675 i dont understand how they made the apollo pro with rubber bushings. Im glad the lower the price of the gt2. Imagine the gt3 and gt4. Honestly i cant wait
@danpettis16756 ай бұрын
@tazerz9 my guess they spent all the budget on things like a 1 peice aircraft aluminum frame, fancy lighting. Bluetooth speaker and quad locks. then when it came to things that really matter like a actual adjustable rear suspension and hydraulic brakes. they figured people wouldn't notice, they'd be too distracted by all the fluff. car makers ,and building architects do this all the time. the next iteration of the GT series will definitely be a sight to behold for sure. what some don't realize is that Segway pioneered micro mobility, and know what their customers want. True masters in the craft.

3,800 scooter with only 1200w motors, CABLE BREAKS? cmon bro for that price?? The app seems pretty garbage, akward sized deck And also this is my personal opinion but that stem seems pretty unsafe. I ride hard and i'd be afraid with that stem weld... But I mean i quess its quality?

The Punk Rider Pro looks very similar to this scooter. I think they tried to copy them.

I'd love to see him review the Punk Rider Pro now that he reviewed the Apollo Pro.

All of these scooters look the same. It’s more so a trend than it is copying 😂

@jlewis631 The Pro came out in March 2023. The Punk Rider in February 2024. Imitation is the best type of flattery..
@chaxologist20246 ай бұрын
It is an infringement of the Apollo Pro! The CTO of Apollo confirmed that and the Punk Rider does not have any service locations or replacement parts as compared to the Apollo Pro so buy that cheap, Chinese copycat at your own risk!

I'd be willing to bet that MOST, not all, of the people bashing this scoot scoot are android phone users. It'd be interesting to see that poll. Some people don't buy premium products to go the fastest or have the most cutting edge features. Some people value form equally to function. This scooter is pricy, beautiful, and well laid out. I'll be ordering mine soon!! Whoever suggested the Yume Y11 Pro likely has a clunky Samsung s10 or something like that as that scooter is hideous (and check your homeowners policy with those yume batteries!!)
