@sammo39697 ай бұрын
At the point he came back, sounded more full-bodied of course, 'cos it's 2 cellos vs 1 when the string broke. Besides, sounded like at that point, the ensemble was heading to more vigorous playing, so it's even heavier lower frequencies?
@Roctrin6 ай бұрын
@@sammo3969I get your point. The music changes in it's character around the point he started playing again, so it's a little hard to know exactly what difference his playing made. Thats a scientific attitude which is of course valid and good; I make my living in science/tech/engineering/math, so I definitely find the question intriguing. But music isn't a scientific thing at its core. Maybe the meaning here isn't in the actual frequencies that emanated from this ensemble's instruments, but in the story that we as humans cannot help but see--the weight of an individual put on display in fantastic fashion.

When I first watched this video, I didn’t realize Apollo’s Fire was the name of The ensemble. I imagined it was the term for when your bow explodes while you are performing. As in….he played with such passion he invoked Apollo’s fire, which caused his bow to explode from the awesomeness of its power. Ps. I’ve since become a huge fan. I’m always studying your performances and lectures.

@@cliffgaither Well, Vivaldi got his inspiration from somewhere... I think from nature, but as he was a priest he probably would've said God. And heaven can be just a very pleasant state of mind, not necessarily the Christian heaven, which I also don't believe in as a pantheist. It's just a turn of phrase, don't take it so seriously.
@cliffgaither5 ай бұрын
@@MetalTrabant :: Thanks for the advice ! It's the people who use the phrase who take it seriously and occasionally, they should be called out. I had forgotten about Vivaldi's priesthood ; maybe he did find his musical genius through religion, definitely nature. His Four Seasons justifies the latter belief as you pointed-out. What is more heartbreaking than his music, was the heartbreaking end, in Vienna.

Wait, this version, to my surprise, popped up right after another version I saved under my account here; and, this version I like better 'cos it has more body (the mid and lower region). Wowwwwwwww! More oomph! I love Vivaldi. Also, many (majority) players on this piece I think are the same as in the other piece, Emi Tanabe....... This is a versatile ensemble, obviously, as we noticed that the main soloists here are different, and the star violinists in another version by the ensemble featured couple others as soloists. WOWWW! Also, the side show of the broken bow makes it so much more enjoyable? Bravo. Addendum - this version, as I checked the other version ny this group, who the personnel are slightly varied. This version is more recent, so it sounded more full-bodied. Perhaps the equipment, etc. is more modern, sophisticated. Soloists are also different (versatile group). Both are so enjoyable. Ha, this version is more voluptuous tho. Real "fire" played by Apollo's Fire.

I love this Vivaldi music performed by Apollo’s Fire. Such excitement and fun filled musical expression eventually caused the cello’s bow to fracture with explosive energy! It was well handled by everyone, especially the cello players. This unfortunate accident should not define this performance, which was brilliantly played by all, especially the lead violinists. It was nice to see the lead violin positions rotated to give each one the opportunity to show their skills.
