If you feel far from God, guess who moved! It is written, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." Have you begged to know God, to no effect? Then try praying with faith, not as if God won't keep a promise! Say, "Thank you, Lord, for filling me with the Holy Ghost." Thank the Lord as if it is already done, for God always keeps a promise. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

Imagine you found your soulmate and you spent every day together for the past 30 years and every day it was an absolute joy to be with that person. This would not even come close to the Intimate relationship Jesus has with the father. Jesus had never been separated from the father. Jesus did not know what it felt like to be alone for Him to be alone was just a theory or concept. So it is my belief that when he felt what it was like to be separated from the father and the feeling of being completely alone was probably worse and more terrifying to Jesus Then the beatings and the crucifixion itself. On that bad Friday Jesus experienced something so horrible that we couldn’t even begin to understand. We have never known and lost a perfect intimate relationship.

God bless Pastor Jeff and his ministry. Very moving and beautiful. That crown was His glory, That cross was His glory. Praise God that he has saved somebody as awful and rebellious as you and me, due to no inert righteousness of our own, but because of Him. Mighty is our Lord and God, Jesus Christ.

I think the side-to-side head wagging symbolizes us peripherally checking our surroundings when we're about to fight someone we disagree with, and the up-down is to gesture the recognition and approval of someone standing upright physically and morally

Side to side also moves your eyes laterally which gives a slightly wider picture of what you're looking at. Useful in physical conflict or if something negative but important is in front of you (like a dead/dying person)

Did God the Father forsake Jesus when he was on the cross??? The answer is no. When Jesus said, "My God, my God Why have you forsaken me?!", he was declaring the first line of Psalm 22. The intention is that we might go and read that psalm in it's entirety to get the full picture of what is happening. Psalms were literally songs that the Israelites would memorize and sing. For most, this is where the majority of their understanding about God (Yaweh) came from. They would never have just sang the first line of the song without calling to mind the whole thing. Reading the beginning of the psalm we see that along with David the psalmist, Jesus was crying out in the despair and pain of humanity. Jesus was actually bearing in his body the sin, anguish, pain and utter desperation of all people, of all time and all places. When he cried out, it was OUR cry to God. But as we continue reading the psalm we will see that God did not forsake Christ and He does not forsake us. In verse 24 the afflicted one cries out: "For He has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted. And He has not hidden His face from him but has heard when he cried to Him." The psalm ends with declarations and praises by the afflicted one testifying that God saved Him from death (unto glory and immortality) and that this salvation is for all of us. When we identify with Christ on the cross, seeing and understanding that his death was our death, we can also identify with this salvation with which the Father saved him. The same resurrection and immortality that was given to him will be given to us at his appearing and actually already dwells in us by the "Holy Spirit who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it..." (Eph 1:14)

Real quick... Did Jesus really think His Father forsook Him? Here’s 3 scriptures and a few thoughts that say He didn’t. “Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father... ‭‭John‬ ‭13:1‬ ‭ “Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God,” John‬ ‭13:3‬ ‭ “Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me.” ‭‭John‬ ‭16:32‬ ‭ So why did he say the first half of the first verse of Psalm 22? Because in the midst of His crucifixion with His mother and disciples standing there thinking it was all over, he couldn’t just say “everyone remember all of Psalm 22” because there was no chapter and verses in the Hebrew Scriptures. By saying the first few lines of any Psalm would be to direct the attention of the hearers to the whole Psalm, which was looked at as one thought not divided by verses. For me ultimately the resurrection of Jesus contradicts the whole idea that God forsook Jesus. If He raised Him then He obviously didn’t forsake Him. It’s actually a impossibility for Love to forsake. “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:7‬-8

The Father was in The Son, He wasn't outside of The Son punishing The Son. The Father, Son, and Spirit; The Trinity came into the world in the body of Jesus and They went to the cross and took the death of the cross on Themselves to show the world that They were not charging our sins unto us and They were not the One's punishing US with death but They were the Saviors of Men, The Parents and Lovers of All Mankind. There's no greater way They could have proved Their Love for us than to come and Die for US and then to Raise US up with Christ in The Ressurection with Eternal Life. There is No greater act of love than to lay down your life for another. GOD REALLY LOVES US!!!!

The power of written narratives is found in their internal coherence. In the Synoptics Jesus is presented throughout all of them as a man of exalted honor. He is the eternal Son, greater than John the Baptist, a great prophet, priest and king, healer, exorcist, teacher, son of man, etc. In the crucifixion Jesus exalted honor is revealed by way of IRONY. His exalted Kingship and kingdom is being established even as the kingdoms of this world think they are destroying it. The great theme of all of the content of Matthew and indeed all of the synoptics is “the EXALTED JESUS”.
