My moms currently battling COPD/colon and liver cancer, it’s a hard fight but her doctors and nurses are doing an amazing job and she’s a fighter. Off topic, but i am glad you are healthy and going Muta, had to get a colonoscopy myself due to some digestive issues, all good luckly, cheers king.

What blows my mind about these macs is that they almost NEVER turn on their fan, nor do they get hot at all. Or if they do turn on the fan it's almost humanly impossible (even if you try!) to hear it because it's running at such low RPMs. You feel a liiiiiitle air coming out of the vent but hear NOTHING. And 99,999% of the time the fan is completely off, no air being moved. All you did on that mac in this video and much more can be done without it even getting warm. It's unbelievable. Stuff that my windows laptop starts sounding like an airplane doing (League of Legends or WoW at max) this macbook does the same while being cold and COMPLETELY SILENT (and while playing those same games at max settings at stable 60 fps). By the way, WoW is now 100% optimized for Apple Silicon. The performance is unbelievable even at full max settings and in a silent, super thin laptop. These macs at full power consume less Watts than a typical light bulb. At idle they consume just some miliwatts. To have the same performance on intel/amd, you need a laptop that heats up, has loud fans and uses 30-40W (if you have a dedicated GPU you are looking at even more 40-80W on top of those, and thats for cpu and gpu only) while this barely goes past 10-15W at max for the whole laptop. Even playing league of legends ON BATTERY at max and at 60 fps and native 2560x1600p resolution, not only is it completely silent and cold, the battery lasts HOURS playing it. I've always bashed apple for their stupid decisions but jesus christ this is insane. Let's not forget that their laptops also have the best build quality, best screens, best speakers, best microphones, best touchpads, best battery life, best design (opinions), most premium features (light sensors, touchbar, automatic keyboard brightness, battery health, true tone, multiple thunderbolt ports, thinnest screen panels and 100% glass screens, etc) and now the best performance for their class and for the little energy they use, and best thermal performance. Also macOS and it's ecossystem is something you also pay for in the price of the computer. Also privacy and stability and whatever. Sum all this up and then compare it to windows alternatives. Yeah you can get better, more powerful laptops, dual screen laptops, RGB laptops, whatever. Are they thin? Are they 100% silent and cold even at full load while still being powerful? Do they have all the features I just talked? (best touchpads, screens etc). I know, it's unbelievable, but unless you REALLY want a windows laptop or a poweful gaming laptop and don't care about anything else in life, right now it's really REALLY hard not to recommend a Macbook Air M1 for $999 for 95% of people. Specially considering how macOS is so much more "idiot-proof" than Windows, a lot of people would really benefit from that in the long run.

Yuzu, a Nintendo Switch Emulator runs surprisingly well under the M1, in part because both use the same ARM64 architecture. Games designed with Vulkan are workable via MoltenVK translation, albeit with some glitches. It's a weird time where for some titles you have a current generation console running as good and sometimes better than the real thing on hardware that is similarly priced (the Mac Mini base SKU is double, but also a computer).

Cancer is scary, my brother was diagnosed with testicular cancer during his senior year in highschool. It grew to the size of a softball when they removed it. The scary part was that it was spreading luckily they removed all the lymph nodes that it had spread to. Despite missing out half a year of school cause of it my brother still managed to pass all his classes and graduate. Today those days are more of a bad memory but we have moved on. he tends to make too many one ball jokes tho.
