Bootcamps are for a limited time duration. A better approach would be to roll out the new changes (if that's how the business is moving) in phases. Keep support for the cohorts that paid for it. Complete nonsense is happening here. An essential part of selecting a coding boot camp is CURRENT reviews. Thanks for raising awareness for those looking to get into one. My heart goes out to these folks. A hard lesson about the world of business. The contract is for their protection. Not yours. I'd still say, request a refund, make some NOISE, and request a discount. You paid or agreed to pay for something you are not getting.

Good advice and very well thought out statement. These mid changes do not benefit the students at all and I agree you should update your marketing if you're going through such big changes like that...

Reading the comments, I just wanted to be clear… you can pay upfront, but for most of us, App Academy doesn’t see a penny from us unless we get jobs because of the ISA deal. The fact that they don’t have a lot of upfront tuition and the tech bust this year makes them have to allocate resources because students getting jobs is aA’s biggest asset as a business.
@usuckeggs264
@usuckeggs264 Жыл бұрын
That contract is voided if you do not land a job paying 50k in 3 years. Who can go without a job for 3 years? They will start pulling 15% from your pretax paychecks monthly regardless if you are in tech or not.

@@karldenby1942 I ended up going to LearningFuze. Solid program. Good teachers. They do a good job of helping prepare you and also work on job finding skills. It’s been about 3 months after finishing and I still haven’t found a job unfortunately, but that’s more of a problem with the economy then the boot camp. So I’d warn you that it’s not a great time to find a job in the industry, but if your dead set on it LearningFuze is a solid choice!

@Rantalytics
@Rantalytics Жыл бұрын
@@lobster6238 yes! So I’ll start by saying I’m currently an AA part time student, we also had a sit down meeting with the CEO as this video shows. First things first is the changes made didn’t effect all of AA only that particular cohort. The rest maintained their TAs and classes as scheduled. The issue is much more isolated than this video would have you led to believe. I will say it’s concerning that it happened in the way it did. For those not in the cohort it seems to be much a due about nothing, the cohort that lost a TA was about 1 month away from graduating and while I’m sure it really sucked to lose the TA, I’m almost certain they won’t really be missing out very much as the last part of the course is much more individualized and project based I will say they should’ve reduced the price for those on deferred payments to match that of future cohorts, and pricing in general is sort of a different subject in this matter, but nevertheless not nearly as impactful to the learning experience as the video leads you to believe. I still feel very supported, and often find that most students don’t utilize the resources available to us enough to cause a strain by losing one. There’s always ample time for questions in office hours, and tons of attentive TAs who are always more than willing to help out with teaching, even if they’re not in your cohort

They straight up maximizing profit and give 0Fs about the students. His answer was: we will add tools in place that will better your studying. 10 minutes later - "there is nothing student facing" You are too kind to them by saying "they are trying to figure out something" they got things figured out, it's taking more giving the minimum. 🤢

Ok but whats the solution you have yet to recommend a better coding boot camp option; no response to those questions just responses to the negative ones regarding them. Im asking because I have an Interview with Admissions Friday & I don’t want to waste my time if it is not legit & beneficial. Again; What coding boot camp is the better option for securing a min income of $100k post grad?

There is no golden bullet of which coding bootcamp is right for you. I am providing details in regards to a current bootcamp that is going through a rough patch that needs to be addressed. Also expecting a 100k salary min post grad is not a guarantee, especially in this job market. Ideally what you are trying to do is find a junior dev role that will help you get the experience to a 100k+

Actually i been contemplating to become a software engineer for a while and App Academy has been one of my top choices. This is surprising and shocking because I believed App Academy is a top coding bootcamp because of their rigorous admissions and the fact that they are one of the oldest coding bootcamps the only one that focused solely on Software Engineering makes me think that they are laser focused on their program, that their curriculum is solid, and the students they produce are top notch. Because usually when something only does 1 thing, it does it extremely well. In this case AA only focused on Software Engineering so its graduates are most probably really good. Also, having ‘App Academy Open’ is like them saying ‘Come at me bro’. Its like they really stand behind their curriculum. No nothing to hide.
