Hello again Donnie. Several years ago I spent a week in Dandridge. We rented a boat and went out fishing. There is some good fishing on that lake. On the fifth day there I got to feeling really bad so I stayed back at the cabin. Later in the evening They sent a rescue squad to get me I was in so much pain. They took me to the hospital and come to find out I passed a kidney stone. Needless to say my fishing was over for a few days...lol...It is truly a great place. The doctors was wonderful also the people at the cabin. I really enjoyed my time there spite of all. Great video and I thank you again for the videos.

Donnie, I love your videos of east TN! My oldest son moved to Knoxville in 2001 to go to work for Buddy Gregg (he still works there today). He now lives in Lenoir City with his wife and little girl. My late husband and I first visited east TN in 2001, and I quickly fell in love with the area. We have explored many places back there over the years, including Dandridge, Kingston, Morristown, and one of my personal favorite places in the Smokies, Cades Cove. I will be returning to visit in July, 2023. I am looking forward to 3 weeks with my firstborn and his family. Thank you and keep those wonderful videos comin'!!

As usual, a story well told of a town that managed to survive. And as usual, this story of Martha Dandridge led me to Wikipedia and a whole lot of history which had passed me by...her story is well worth knowing, even with her being eclipsed by her second husband George and his fame...

Yep, there's still alot intact under our lakes. I can absolutely speak for middle Tn on that. We used to receive warnings from the core , not to jump off houseboats due to people hitting old chimneys. (Edit : That was on percy priest near a popular party cove about a mile up from elm hill marina.)

Great and interesting video as always Donnie! Thank you. Very historic indeed. There is a strong argument that the ancient Indian town of Chiaha may have been located up from the dam (Zimmermans Island) and was visited by Hernando De Soto and Juan Pardo, Spanish Conquistadores around 1540 to 1567. Unfortunately, researched somewhat ended with the construction of the dam.

Yay my mental break from work. I look forward to your videos and you have been covering my neck of the woods. Did you stop at the Pharmacy soda fountain and grab lunch? Dandridge has some real gems and history as you commented. Thank you for another great video.

Sometimes I have a dream that the water is rising in the woods and covering the roads but it`s very clear water and I`m standing on a hill watching it rise. It`s a very vivid dream.

Love this town, visit it often and not far from us. The husband and I figured you would of went in the old pharmacy there and told about the good food they serve and it's history. We really enjoyed this story.
