Boy, I'll tell you what. I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then. This seems like forever ago. I hope you are well. I got off in Front Royal at mile 972 because of my hernia. I consider it a long shakedown for 03/25/25. I'm going to try again.

Thank you all. Wendy and I use them correctly but will check out some more videos to be sure. Scott has made a conscious decision to use them as he does and gets quite a lot of power out of them as well as stability. We’ll definitely look into it more though. Thanks for the concern.🙂

@@transcendenttraipsing I was using my poles correctly when I slipped and fell going down into the NOC. MY pole came up and whacked me across the face giving me a black eye that took over a week to fade. I, like Scott, have made a conscious decision to use my poles in a way best for me. Being attached to my wrist, I have also tripped on them and fallen on top of them. I no longer have the straps on them so when I fall they are released and do not injure me again. Its one of those pieces of gear that work differently for different people.
