I’ve always enjoyed solo hiking but this journey has really hit home how much I really cherish true friends… and how much it hurts when you don’t have that

The view just after the top of Old Blue and the bench was really nice. I enjoyed this chat alot . Happy you had the run ins with people capt. Jack and bitter goat. Happy hiking. Enjoy as you said. 😊

I’ve always enjoyed having friends around at times. The thing about them, their crutches. Dependencies. I’m pretty much an independent person and as much as I like friends, they still fall into the prior category. There’s nothing like only depending upon yourself. Happy trails and do your thing!!! Too much drama tends to wear you down.

If I dare be so bold, I suspect you had feelings beyond friendship for a certain fellow hiker. The timing wasn't right to act on those feelings for a number of reasons, and you both needed to recalibrate, and what better way to do that than to go solo and focus on the hike
