Love your updates. Just don’t know how Sadie could just poof… gone. Breaks my heart… I hike with my dogs and sure makes me keep a closer eye on them… in all my 70 years just no problems… they are so good at staying close especially our older experienced dogs. It’s like something just grabbed her and ran… feel so awful for her and her momma… ❤❤❤❤❤

So glad you got out on the trail! As soon as mud season is over, I'll be hiking sections in New Hampshire. Happy to give you updates on trail conditions when I get out there so that upcoming through hikers know what to expect. (I know you don't focus on section hikers, and I understand that! For dogs on trail, perhaps mentioning a bell that can be worn. Has drawbacks, but an electronic GPS, etc, needs a signal. Maybe do both.

There was a decent size bubble this past Sunday and Monday that I feed at the Waterville trail head located below Davenport gap. I feed about 42 thru hiker over those days.

Tell thru hikers to beware of bears up on max patch area, on Saturday night I drove up to max patch and ran I to baby bear from rome,'ve. While I was chatting with him we both witnessed seeing a bear go hauling butt down the side of the mountain by the area where folks tent camp right before hiking up onto top of max patch. Then at 9 p.m as I was driving back down the mountain on max patch road I had another small bear cross the roadway about 25 yards in front of my truck and it was going quickly up the a hillside.
