Thank you for mentioning Captain Jack. Those of us following him were surprised to hear him decide to yo-yo. It made us happy to be able to continue following him

Condolences on your good friend, Ramdino. Thanks for keeping your channel fresh for every new class year of thru-hikers. It would be easy to become mundane and mechanical about the AT after immersing yourself in it day after day. Instead, you continue to maintain that same enthusiasm about the trail and make every single thru-hiker-most of whom have dreamed about this for a lifetime-feel like their hike is the first and only one you’ve ever reported on. Much like your late friend touched you, you also touch people in ways you can’t even imagine. Keep up the great work! -Pale Rider

Good video as usual. Failed to send an update...been a heck of a week. My hiking partner got the flu and we spent 4 zeros in the hotel. Then the vehicle taking us to the trailhead, got stuck on a dirt road ditch in an area with no cell service. So less hiking for the week! We were supposed to be New Hampshire, but hopefully soon. Enjoying the cooler weather. Was actually a little cold today at the top of Killington Peak. Most streams in the Killington area seem to be flowing well.

I suffered from vertigo for several months. My sodium level was low from drinking too much water. Salt levels affect the inner ear and balance. High sodium levels will do the same thing. Finding the water balance is the key.

I would add, amd the electrolyte balance too.

Saying you completed a thru hike does not mean much anymore I live next to the CDT in Colorado and half the hikers either skip part of state or the entire state.The PCT we now have parts of the trail that hardly get used like from Cahone pass to Wrightwood etc.
@garylines57553 ай бұрын
@Navy1977 A few years ago I had a person hand me a resume saying she hiked the PCT but she had no idea where Campo was needless to say she did not get hired.If you have to cheat why bother maybe because I'm old but I don't get it

I have been told by thru hikers on the AT that the same thing occurs there. But people have been fabricating accomplishments for far longer than there have been long trails

If god is a forgiving god, it doesn't matter if he accepted god. You cannot force people to do what you believe. When someone has a terminal illness, they do not have the same beliefs as healthy people. I speak as someone with stage 4 cancer for 9 years, cancer for 11 at 53 and god is not at the top of my list as I am dealing with day to day cancer issues. be happy you are healthy and have the luxury to do things that those of us with terminal illnesses do not have the emotional capacity to do. Judgment is not helpful. And, I run a lot an hike a lot (60 miles a week this winter and hiking 14 plus plus miles in Maine so I have my own way of dealing with this horrific health crisis and do not have energy to do what other think I should. What you may not know is that EVERYONE has an opinion about what people with serious illnesses should do. It can get overwhelming and infuriating. You can't know the horror of facing your mortality and thinking you know is not fair to the person going through hell. Please think about this. I am not being caustic, but it is exhausting to hear the "suggestions" from people with little knowledge to what we are going through. Ask the question, how can I help and do not impose your beliefs on unwell people, please. Thanks for listening. It is important to this athlete. I have been a great athlete since I was 10 and live to move and so I feel like I have the right to educate people who are fortunate to be healthy. It is luck of the draw, so be happy you are not dealing with death as many of us are. Thank you.
@Ramdinohikes3 ай бұрын
Tks for your comment, and I so sorry you have this horrible illness of cancer. No apology necesarry. I am so grateful that I my parents at 85, and my children are all of good health. I was very cognizant of my best friends needs and did the best I could to meet them. Salvation as Christians known it is not something that can be forced on anyone. Salvation comes voluntary and as a gift. You can only bring the horse to the trough. It's up to them to drink. My prayers over and for him was the acceptance of forgiveness. Did he need healing, yep, but it was beyond me to help him with that in this realm. I did not judge him for his beliefs only tried to help him see there is abundant life after death.So I helped him with what I could as I would for anyone. Certainly my beliefs are not accepted by everyone, but they are my beliefs and I truly hope to see him in the next life where our time together will not be cut short and both of us will be whole again if he made the decision. But understand that I in no way would try to force my beliefs upon another. But I will unashamingly share them.
