Sounds like a great idea! You aren't kidding about the, "you can't just bushwack around the blowdowns". Long story short, I got on the AT the night after Helene blew through. I had come all the way from Kansas to do a section hike, and as a last ditch effort to get some sort of hike on the AT, I got on the trail at Roan Mountain, TN. Believe it or not, I didn't realize how much of a disaster area I had wandered into. Yeah, I hiked maybe 1/4 mile of the trail NOBO before the blowdowns that I couldn't reasonably hike around convinced me to turn around and get off the trail. I may only have liked a very, very short section, but it was enough to earn me a trail name in epic style: "Hurricane"

I have sectioned hiked to Boots off and want to get to Damascus and beyond next year. Our spring hike may have to be further north and then circle back to Boots Off and continue north. I will know what to do after you hike that section next spring. My team will be watching!!!!

Great idea, we need to get your subscribers up to get the most impressions for the community you are helping. There should be some interesting videos coming out in 2025 and Im excited to see them. I’m guessing you plan to take your time from Springer Mtn to Harpers Ferry and won’t be doing huge mileage days to meet a deadline.

1:40 If you are going to be doing trail reports, you might want to consider reducing your delay to 4 - 5 days. I believe there are some channels that are doing trail reports in almost real time. Trail conditions can change a lot in a week.

Oh that’s great. The more trail reports the merrier. Unfortunately I cannot reduce the delay days more. So if some want in time reports I’m happy for them to check out the others. Do you have the name of those channels? I can mention them for those that would prefer this.

@@hikingdancer Well, Ramdino Hiking the Trails for one. But I think you know him, since he featured you on his channel a few weeks ago. Trail / hiker updates is pretty much all he does. And the ATC is giving updates on their KZbin channel. I can't think of the other channels right off the top of my head, but I think there are more then a few.

@@MaxZomboniRamdino is somewhat delayed as well as he usually does hiker updates on Sundays. He’s also not hiking the actual trail, and safe in his home. But yeah, if you see any HIKERS on trail who have in time updates, let me know.

Would like to see interviews with POC thru-hikers. After watching mcsingleton's channel, she observed there are not many. The only hiker I recall who looked like me was FOCS.
