Wow! Congratulations on reaching Maine! I don't blame you for getting emotional. It is such an amazing accomplishment! Beautiful views! I think you made the right choice about waiting on Mahoosic Notch for the next day to be well rested before hiking it (I know I probably totally messed up the spelling of the notch lol). I am glad you enjoyed the Whites of New Hampshire! New Hampshire is such a beautiful state! I hope to get to travel to New Hampshire in a few years again!

What a great video, I too shared a tear with you at the State Line, thats impressive isn't it, like you, you stop and think and wow its such a long long way and you've walked it and many bonus miles too, you'll remember this time in your life forever. Over the years I have seen many parts of the world that I would never have seen if it hadn't been for geocaching (which is how I started following Kaity and in turn you guys too); and following along here with you all has shown me another part of the world that I have not seen, not only that, its allowed me to see into the psyche of many different types of people. After the hike, I hope you get to upload more of your dancing videos, you are so graceful and talented, the little I've seen has been a treasure to watch. Greetings again from Australia and stay safe ladies :)

I'm glad you came out of the mud with this "twisting" tip! I couldn't keep myself from crying as you entered Maine... you DI IT, so so proud of you! The next challenges will be a piece of cake for you! What a gorgeous side trail up the mountain, you got not only the views but great food with it AND you could join back together with Groceries! I was screaming at my laptop "no NO", when you said you might wanna do Mahoosuc Notch with the headlamps... wheew glad you didn't!! Can't wait to see the rest of the trail with you!

State Line Crossing! Welcome to my home state. You will certainly enjoy your stay. Once you clear the Mahoosucs there isn't anything terribly difficult and challenging, with just a few exceptions. Still, nothing like the climb up to the Wildcats. It's slow going in some spots due to exposed tree roots, but there are other segments where you can cruise. You will love the Bigelows. One of the best views in the entire state, not just the AT. Worth taking a zero for clear skies if necessary. To answer your question, that looks to me like bear scat. They generally leave a black colored blob that sometimes has the appearance of cranberry sauce due to the berries they eat. Very rare to see them on trail, it is more likely to see a moose. (Their poop is a pile of large brown colored nuggets.) BTW, there are no poisonous snakes in Maine. If you have time following your hike, swing by Acadia National Park on the way home. The two crown jewels of Maine are Katahdin and Acadia. Peace, Love and Kindness.

From what I've heard, Mahoosuc Notch is best done with plenty of daylight. That one "little" mile can take at least an hour. BTW that was moose or bear 💩 you discovered on the trail. Good you didn't step in it! 🤢😊 Less than 300 miles from the northern terminus! That is sooooo amazing. You and Groceries have so got this! 🙌🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻❤️

When you showed your freshly-freed foot (guess no one can call you a "stick in the mud"), I realized I don't remember the last time I saw your gaiters. What happened to them?
