After a very bad 2023 (lost the love of my life) where I lost the desire to craft and garden that crept into 2024...yesterday I finally went out into the garden to clear out weeds and dead grape vines. Stood in the middle and met back with what my garden used to be and will be again this year...I'm ready.

Someone once asked me if it upset me that my animals kept me "tied down" to my little farm? Of course it does! It keeps me "tied" to the sun ups and sun downs, the sunshine & the rain, the bitter winds and the soft summer breezes, the smell of fresh straw and the smell that beds need to cleaned up. The happiness and the sadness that comes with new births and the losing of our oldies. Yes-- I LIKE being tied down to my " little farm"!

Oh' Patera... one if my beautiful g-granddaughters, 8 yrs old. Hasn't Bern feeling well. Last night her mom told me she has fever, vomiting no appetite and side pain. "Right side pain" 😢 I told her we needto take her to the ER. Ended up she has an appendix stone. She said Grammy, you nailed it. This really worried me because I don't know what we would do if we couldn't have taken her to the hospital. I don't know how we could care for that self sufficiently. And what's ahead is uncertain times for sure.

Very interesting and important thought. Good diet, low fat, no processed foods can help with intestinal flareups and I believe that includes appendix, when my son had his appendix removed the surgeon told me they have more surgeries on the appendix then ever before.. he contributed it to diet.. especially hot Cheetos and taquitz ….

The Lord told me what can to do. He said send coats, bedding, baby cloths, sweaters, cloths and shoes to WNC. Also heaters and propane to be delivered also to WNC. I told the Lord I will do this until you ask me to stop. Well we were ask to stop and I did. We sent money for families needing help. They were not qualified for gov assist. It’s going to be my year for learning as well. My dad tore down the pool in his backyard and I’m going to plant a small garden there. I’ve never done it before. My dad has always been the one who grew the food and my mom, sister and I always snapped the green beans, shucked to corn and shelled the butter beans.
