This is what as known as, "Harmless Mayhem". Up here in Central New York, some of the Volunteer Fire Departments are Career/ Volunteer. I was a Volley for 10 years, and during that period of time, we played "Pushball", "Sink a Boat", etc. Of course, water was involved with this also. Now, I'm almost 60 years old, and have a whole lot of fond memories of this "Harmless Mayhem". Some of you need to get out of the house more often, instead of crabbing about what the Volleys do, and, no, I don't see the Career Firefighters giving the Volleys a bad name either.

I could be wrong but highly unlikely but the people below who were butt hurt over all of this must lives in States where " fun " is frowned upon even at the Volunteer level or they aren't even Firefighters and just want to express the shit coming out of there mouth so people can read it, not that we give a shit anyway, as Volunteers they don't see a dime to save lives, no hourly paycheck or salary, having the same training as paid but some have more Pride because yes they are Volunteers and they love doing it for Free, I use to be a Hookie(15) now (95) before I moved to Florida and I loved every second of being a Volunteer, didn't care about getting paid to do what I loved, waking up at 1,2,3 in the morning for a call because somebody needed help didn't bother me one bit, to those trully butt hurt below get off your high horses and live a little, go to a parade like this and watch and learn, these guys/girls do what paid guys do everyday without physically seeing a dime, so when they have fun like this you can see it in there faces, kids faces having a blast, parents having a blast, this is what community is, they support one another and show it by all means, I find it funny that one guy commented how Career guys hate us, idk where you live but even in Pennsylvania Career Departments support us, if all trucks are busy who's going to come help at a major emergency, that's right the Volunteers, only Major cities in PA are Career, they other 95% is Volunteer, to the other person who boasted how they would never let there Department have fun obviously has a broom handle up there ass, watch you tube videos of Firefighters having fun, even the paid guys have videos of them having fun. kzbin.info?search_query=Firefighter+water+battles All those butthurt better get on it and bash how everyone of these Volunteers having fun is bad and makes us all look bad. Q sirens are like 130db-160 a piece. The normal sirens, 130-150. The air horns. Let's cut it at 140. Thirty of them going at once, peaking the shit out of them even, is going to deafen a lot of people and it may be fun but I have my volume at 50% and my ears are fucking ringing from these sirens

Also people definitely looking for a “thank you for your service”. I’m all for supporting other fire departments, I volunteer but fuck, this is too much, there’s absolutely no need to step on a q siren and air horns on your way out from a fucking parade. My department has a no sound policy in place for parades. Not too many people in NEPA in parades see the little kids holding their hands over their ears because it loud. This is an absolute shame. This shouldn’t be allowed.

This was one of the stupidest displays by any fire service I have ever seen. At times you can literally picture 10 year old children in these apparatus and their actions would make sense. Water fights? Just straight emptying the tank on the ground for no reason? Then we have peaking the Q and air horns for what seems like forever. I get volunteers don't run a lot of calls, but shit, it must have been the first time these guys got to operate the siren. This literally could not make vollies look any worse. These aren't toys...
