Hi, Just had to chime in to agree with you on how wonderful Fashion Mart’s fabrics are. I’ve only been once so far but the sale was similar and my husband patiently waited. Then when I was ready to check out he pulled out his credit card ready to plunk down his life savings to treat me in support my venture back to fashion sewing and I can’t think of another time I’ve been more thrilled as I left with 25 yards of fabric for $28. Everything washed beautifully now I just have to get sewing. Thanks for sharing your fabrics, makes and most of all your enthusiasm! We were on a camping trip too.

Carol it's the same here in Canada. I never see fabric or pattern prices like they get in the U.S. It's almost too expensive to sew. I've got to be very judicious about what I buy.

I am so envious! Beautiful fabrics. We used to have nice fabrics in Bellingham, WA, then Discount Fabrics (the cheap place) changed its name to JoAnn’s. Fabricland bought out House of Fabrics, then JoAnns bought out Fabricland. Then JoAnns became a craft store. So we went from 2 stores with really nice silks, wool, linen, and anything else you might want to one cheap fabric craft store. I get angry when I go in, but I admit they have more polar fleece than I ever imagined. Yeah for recycled water bottles.

I hear you!! I wonder what is in some of these synthetics and plastic water bottles aren’t far off the mark. I made the mistake of buying “microfiber” sheets and Brad and I literally couldn’t sleep on them - dying of heat! Back to cotton we go. And the demise of the local fabric store still saddens me; I used to have Minnesota Fabrics, New York Fabrics, Joann (with a HUGE pattern department, tables, counter books and drawers) and another small fabric store all within 5 miles of my house. This was back in the late 80’s. Needless to say, the only one left is Joann and I don’t buy fabric there. But at least they still put forth pattern sales!

I’m so glad that you get fabrics at good prices I can’t see paying $21. For fabric for pj bottoms that they can’t even sleep in. I can’t see paying more for fabric that you can get a good quality item for the same amount of money. If you don’t get a pattern on sale that about $20. Then pay$12. Or more for 1 yard of fabric it easy to have about $100. For a garment. If you are not confident in you sewing skills it could be money in the trash. And a big thank you to Fabricmart for having good quality at a good price if the pattern manufacturers and the fabric manufacturers don’t lower their prices this maybe the last generation of sewer’s I love your channel and have been with you from the beginning

Dear Vic, I am so jealous! That is my sewing fantasy. I bought the art print with the crazy ladies, polka dots, and candy apples. It made a spectacular Kimono. Wow, how lucky to find such a sale! I haven’t been online much. Packed up my Victorian house, downsized. Hubby can’t take the long ride to his oncologist, so we are moving in with our daughter. After our house sells, buying a townhouse. No stairs. It’s been a difficult time but I am happy to see your smiling face and hear of your amazing deals! Viscose is a cellulose fabric so when you burn it it is soft and feather like. No hard beading.

@@vivmomsews4962 Is it heavy enough for a jacket? This is just the sort of fabric Marcy Tilton or her sister Kathrine would use to create a great jacket. The pants/skirt and a top or a dress would help tone it down. It would make a cool jacket! Careful placement of pieces and some thought can have amazing results with this fun artful piece. You can do it!
