Will Smith was too big and high profile, Joker's design was terrible and the editing butchered the plot involving him but I don't think it's as bad as people claim it was. These days it's as if there is no decent movies. Everything has to be either Oscar worthy or a flop. It was certainly much better than Justice League. That movie is the worst of the DCU.

The question is which Joker or what kind of Joker? Joaquin Phoenix's Joker does really feel like he belongs in this DC Universe... at least not yet. Jared Leto's Joker... I think it's a safe bet that Jared is done with it and given how the character was treated and received, who could blame him? And Heath Ledger's Joker is sadly no longer with us... unless someone wants to try to resurrect him with a similar portrayal, in which case, Good Luck We might just have to start from scratch and make a new one. There is a lot of stories. Sometimes she leaves him and team up with Poison Ivy. Sometimes Joker dies and shes on her own. Most of the times it's because he died. Like in the Animated series, Arkham games and Injustice series.
