or you know... they can be just trash and run around with a 4 blue striker with little to no crit % and godawful chest talents. think "max armor on kill, unkillable, uber damage from strikers"-clickbait youtube video from the usual suspects.... yes I've seen them, I don't get them, those all blue strikers with armor regen, the mop shotgun, armor on kill mods, 2 pieces bellstone -blue ofc and with armor regen, then as a clear sign to how stupid they are... crit damage as a second roll... probably uses repair drone too and banshee pulse. But yes, on challenging strikers really struggles to reach even half its potential, but then again it's challenging so slapping together anything that works will either kill too quick to build stacks, kill too fast (fire chem with yellow sacrifice will literally blow up reds before the game registers they are on fire so you get no fire spread), or you kill too fast with your skills you run into a cooldown issue (again, a PROPER eclipse really struggles here).

I'm totally with you on that. If you die with Glasscanon, it's simply a skill issue that can be fixed by ‘try and error’ at some point. Positioning, map and AI knowledge, spawn points etc definitely contribute to this. Nothing comes from nothing, if you're not willing to develop and invest time, you'll always be the ground inspector and get upset that the game is soooo hard and blame things like Glasscanon.

First time completing the incursion was with a player that had glass cannon strike build with oero and mowed down the bosses so fast, it was one of easiest clears. And it was a struggle getting past love birds for the team i was on while being the healer. But i remember him saying most youtubers were full of sh*t and glass was the way to go.

Completely agree with POV. I used to only play challenging mode but decided to push myself and now I run legendary daily with all red strikers no shield no revive hive. My team kills are significantly(double digits) higher than the rest of the squad. Skill and methodology is key!!!

Thanks for the great videos, totally agree with you about the style of play - having recently moved to Heroic you just get used to the change in skill and situational awareness needed to make it through the Heroic missions. I noticed this recently when running the Christmas Speed Runs on Normal and then going back to Heroic - I started dying until my brain got up-to-speed. It's probably playing in a group causing the issues. AI behavior in a group is vastly different than when solo. You play solo and enemies act predictable. You play in a group and a chunga will suddenly stop shooting your teammate and do a 180 turn to beam you down the second your pants are down. So I would add "play solo" to the training wheels build. Keeps npc behavior more consistent.

That's another great point! Because in a group, your own personal mistakes might not kill you, but a teammate or vice versa, so playing casual means that every outcome is down to you and your actions, which is certainly a great way to learn how the game plays with a build like that, what you can and can't do, but also learn how the ai react to what you do and how you do it. For 4 years I would not even try Glass Cannon, Then I used it on a hybrid build with 6 skill tiers and I forgot I was even using it. Now present time I have 14 different Glass cannon chest pieces in my stash/inventory, Using cover, positional awareness, run and gun and duck into places when you reload and back out without stopping, Use the environment to your advantage. I now use glass and all red without 2nd thought. I go down like anyone else but I destroy much more. Im on Console to. lastley, Turn OFF Aim assist. It will get you killed, especially with snipers.

What got me comfortable with gc was running it on my drone and turret skill build on legendary. One hit and you are down but kept doing it over and over till i got comfortable. My only issue with full red glass canon is I’m slow on reaction speed so I get caught and die a lot. I run a ps chest with obliterate and rest strikers that’s normally good for me plus a shield and revive hive for harder stuff and I’m good. If I had better reaction speed or concentration I’d probably be cool with glass canon.

No it doesn't. Determined does nothing for actual Headshots other than apply them to a thing with it. Anything with a helmet, still not a head shot. Chungas - not a head shot. Warhounds - not a head shot. You can do the exact same thing if you just learn to aim.

Glass Cannon is very good and manageable. But it does limit your play style which is why i stop using it. If you run invaded with directives on. You have a very high probability of dying. There's just other things to use. To gain 10% weapon damage but take 50% damage to me just doesn't make sense.

@airborne1868 Of course it does...but GC has a different limit. Makes it far tougher to survive so you are forced to play cover. There's several people in the comments saying this about this one peice. It's a common thing you hear from seasoned and new players. Im not saying it can't be done coming from someone who plays with GC...ive solo legendary but for manning zoo. It can be done just like those who can spead run legendaries incursions in 10mins. But to the average play...GC makes it much tougher to clear harder content. Personally although I run it sometimes...I dont think its worth. To get an extra 10% damage but take 50% damage just doesn't seem all that appealing. You may do little more damage but that doesn't mean a player will perform better. I've run with players who use it. I pretty much dominate them in kills all the time. They busy using med kits, having to get in cover or waiting on their reviver give or someone to pick them up. Again there are exceptional players but thats not the majority.

I wouldnt mine running the video for an hour once its up :D But i dont think its skill, but more the fact.. playstyle. Glass cannon is kinda your 'shoot and hide' on a perfect level, in a way its not really my thing. Specialy when on parties (randoms) the aoe (hello drones...) often is enough to get hit too much too often, where as solo majority has lower HP and only focus on you. But again, it boils down to playstyle, i used glass cannon for quite a while and it works, but only if i control the pace and game. When in a 4 man pug? I take the safe route.

I agree it's a skill issue but at the same time it's not. What I mean is striker can do hardest difficulty but the NPCs hit so hard on high difficulties 6 armor cores compared to 0 armor cores is 1-3 bullet(s) difference. So if u get unlucky at doing a CP where there is a convoy/elite convoy, u may die because u might get overwhelmed by the enemies from the CP and convoy. Without a way to get armor back fast (using chems, hive, or having armor on kill) I would say it's a game issue not a skill issue. For me personally I find legendary/heroic hard because how hard NPCs hit even at 6 armor cores.

thing is, you just don't need that dmg in solo heroic. devs nerf so hard div 2, so for now it's pointless. I clear heroic grand Washington hotel for 8min 03 sec in striker memento 3red 4 blue build, with palisade vest, you clear for 8min 45 sec. so what the point? and yes, I playin with 4 directive all the time, and yes I 'm chilling in div too, cuz have full time job, so no 24/7 division try harding for me. In the end of they day you can play what you want, I support that mentality, but what I can't understand is when people on youtube try say that they way playing the game more efficient and more skilled (cuz when you total glass you need understand game "better"). It's just funny. I was mainig glass and m1a with AR when warlords was released, cuz in that time it was needed, but now it's just one of the builds, and that build don't make anyone a better player

Lots of players are exceptionally bad at using proper cover and evasion techniques. And poor at anticipation of npc tactics and adaptive techniques. Curiously, you need not do a mission the same way every time. Indeed npc strategy adapts if you replicate a specific run too many times, even though there is usually one optimal path. I've also experienced something players don't usually mention. It feels like a proper build with higher armor and weapon and skill expertise becomes more accurate. The explanation can be that higher armor gives you less impact from opponents, leading to higher average accuracy, which may also allow a user to alter the build for better damage and s7rvivability.

It takes 25 min. Same build. Heroic 4 directive. All reds. Dump the Lexington. It's shyt. Blue screen is way better.

People who say it's impossible, unviable or doesn't work are just objectively wrong. But we should take knowing the spots and spawn-killing out of the equation, as that's not a skill issue but a knowledge gap. Now, I'm not a GC or all red or even Striker player, I prefer to build for survivability. It gives more room for error, whereas full dps is 1 mistake=death and I find that too stressful. I also dislike getting to the brink of death so easily, popping kits like candy, having to run revive hive, scurrying to cover, blind firing, getting shredded while moving/repositioning and as a result being stuck in the same spot waiting for enemies to graciously emerge from cover so I can shoot them, and being locked into playing the same few weapons, skills and gear. In general I don't find the decrease in TTK is worth the tankiness, build/play style variety and peace of mind I'm giving up. EDIT: Ironically, full reds feel more defensive despite the higher damage, while tanky builds are more aggressive to me!

That's the skill issue he's talking about . If you know how to play GC non of the concerns you mentioned will apply . I take over CP's or run missions without breaking a sweat .

@@airborne1868 I'd say those problems are intrinsic to the build. Being skilled helps you encounter them less frequently, but it doesn't make them non-existent. So from my perspective it's a build-issue.
