so i'm trying to put all of "when clock1 timer do" in a procedure then put the procedure in when clock1timer do. I put in parameter instead of global variables for the amount of seconds in the timer but it doesn't work if i use parameters. Please help!

Yeah, ice had all kinds of issues with scoping which is why I got the kids to use globals. I'd definitely prefer to use parameters if I could make it easier.

What I've noticed is that since the clock timer script runs once every second, you could press the button half a second after it runs, meaning it waits another half a second before counting down. I want to make a really accurate timer, so is there a way I can avoid this?

Instead of the start variable just toggle the Timer.Enabled. Set it to false in the designer as default, in an else condition you can set it to false again, if it reaches 0.

You need to format that manually by yourself... The minutes section is a floor function (round down) if number of seconds divided by 60 and the minute side is the remainder (modulus). You can put just about anything in a label.

It's really difficult to get appinventor to keep track of data when the app closes and opens again. It will restart. There's a way to make it work but it's hard and involves storing information on the internet

The best way to do this is with a label. You made this way to complicated and added far to many steps. Take a label set the label text to 30 in this case and add a clock component then you are done. Go to designer take your clock.timer and start with and " if then else" block. First block should be " if label.text = 0" " then "set clock.timerEnabled to false". else "set labe.text to label.text-1". No need for a button no need for global parameters or any of that.

Absolutely. None the less I wish there was an adult section where we could build more advanced apps by grabbing pieces that people have already worked out. I want to make a timer that you can enter the value, any value, and then have it do something different at the end. Admittedly, this is helpful for learning, but it could save me 10-15 minutes to have had somebody else post it. I will when I'm done!
