A9: Getting pretty slow and old does pretty well for a dual core and is way faster than the A8 before it A10: Still keeps up with 2020 due to the phone having 4 cores A11: not really optimized its really all over the place in terms of speed but spec wise the 6 cores it has was a big jump from the A10 A12: performs great not as improved in terms of specs but in the optimization and usage of the chip is great making the chip perform way better than the specs it shows A13: better CPU and GPU performance still isn’t really that much faster than the A12 Really what this has shown is A9 has reached its maximum performance and is slowing down A10 has also reached peak performance but will show down in iOS 14 A11 is probably going to reach that peak in iOS 14 and the A12/13 will probably reach there peak in iOS 15 or 16

This is a really precise description 👌🏼 totally agree. I feel like the A12 & A13 were really intermediate upgrades, simply bringing out the performance gains of the A11 (and then some) through better optimization and power management.

My thoughts exactly. I upgraded from a 6s Plus to a XS Max, and honestly I believe the A12 provides the best bang for your buck (iPhone 11 is better but I wanted an OLED display for a change). Apple chips are engineered with massive amounts of headroom; it always takes a few years before apps start putting strain on them (hence why the A9/10 are sputtering now). I got my XS Max, 512GB model for $640. An equivalent 11 Pro Max would cost over twice as much for a performance difference that wouldn’t be noticeable until 3 years from now, which at that point I’d be eyeing an upgrade anyways.

Not if you stay on iOS 13.3.1 then its perfectly fast & has great Battery life. My iphone 6s has still 100% capacity after 1 year usage, il charge it til 95% only and i can use it easily a full Day with a charge.

The reason I got the iPad Pro 2020 was because it had the A12 chip set same as my Xs Max and honestly I can’t complain about how my phone has managed to handle high graphic games and video editing I do sometime on the go for the past 2 years. Honestly glad I held off from buying the first x iPhone because I was curious what apple was going to do the year after so I waited but then I thought nothing changed lol. Definitely better experience on the iPad 11 in because of the bigger screen but the performance is great.

It’s because of optimization that’s the reason. Developers has less work on iPhone then on android. Seeing most android phone use custom android. And have different specks configurations. Also it’s more incentives on developing on iPhone than android.

The A10x is more than fast enough for Zoom. Video streaming is a combination of internet speed, bandwidth, and device processing power. Unfortunately Zoom is by nature pretty laggy (in my experience). I’d check how many devices are on ur network to improve video streaming

Pretty much the advantage with the IPad Air 3rd gen is that it has a bigger battery and bigger casing than the IPhone XS and X-RAY models so it’s able to run intensive applications without having to throttle down at all if the device is in a space with a temperature that’s 21C-25C or cooler though of course it still will throttle if you are using it in a hot space like outside on a 35C summer day in Australia! While meanwhile the IPhones experience their batteries draining a lot faster and also end up throttling performance due to heat after just a couple of minutes of running intensive applications even if the device is in a normal room temperature space! :)

i prefer the a12 over the 13 since the only difference of a13 had only little improvements and its not a huge upgrade of the chip maybe the a13 can out of perform the a12 but it doesn't mean the a12 is slow its not what are you thinking the a12 is already faster than the previous a11 since its because the a12 is 50 percent faster than a11 a12 have 4core gpu and 6 core gpu and its 8 cores that can perform up to 5 trillion 8 bit opartion per second

The tests that ran completely local, like CPU benchmarks, show a clear trend. With any internet service provider, there tends to be a variance in speed over time, so things like launching Twitter (which also will have variance) is less scientific and result should be taken with a grain of salt. A more scientific test of the phone network adapter would be to stay in a LAN, no other wi-fi signal in the test area but the test network. Now that’s boring to watch. :-) . Another way to deal with the variance would be to run multiple tests to and use the mean or average. Having said all that, I enjoyed watching the video! Nice work.

Nadia Shams yeah, I don’t see why not. Your battery might lose some capacity but that can be easily replaced for cheap. Plus a12 should last another 3-5 years

Moral of the story? It doesn't really matter which chip. Everyone freaks out about the latest and greatest and how powerful the chip is, but we rarely see the power differences in the day to day. It's mostly in the camera processing, such as the ability to take 4k at 60fps.. which.. idk how many of you even view your iphone videos on a 4k TV.. but hey, it's a nice option to have.
