I've had one in my e46 for months and its so nice. Seriously recommend the specs on this, only thing you want is something like the screen filter app at night so you aren't blinded by such a large screen. Otherwise amazing.

Hey Vlad great questions, I'm actually not sure about the CD changer. It doesn't have an external DVD player. I'm sure you could load up MP3s and play via a USB stick. Adrian plays all his music through Apple CarPlay.

Great video man! I have been looking for a unit to install in my car since the 2 years I have owned it and I never really had any video convince me to buy any unit specifically, this video did all that,. I just had one question, do you know if his unit had the carplay built in already? The amazon link has a picture saying that an adapter needs to be purchased first, so I am not 100% sure. Also for anyone else who is purchasing this, don't buy the backup camera for $50, the company that sells the headunit offers 3 free accessories, so you can get the backup camera, the obdII scanner, and the carplay adapter (possibly, if the unit doesn't have the functionality) for free, I believe it's like $150 value almost. @@bbpshyt it’s great, looks great, the only complaint I have is it probably takes a solid 30 seconds to a minute to boot up and have CarPlay running, but when it’s on it’s so nice to have the feature, the backup camera is great too. Easy install and at a good price, I don’t see a reason to not get it if you’re keeping the car, if you’re selling it, it might help resell value as well. I love it and have had it for about 3 weeks now. No issues

Thank you! Adrian did it at home DIY and their are some tutorial videos here on KZbin. Almost any stereo shop near you should be able to do this install. Maybe just give them a call and then email them this video to check.

For anyone researching these e46 head units, this is not properly installed, the unit is meant to sit flush with the dashboard trim, not to stick out like it does at 0:36

@siwiskate I just installed this unit in my e46 last night, and there is no way to get it to sit flush unless you cut the metal behind it. And if you do that, there would be nothing stopping it from being pushed in. I cut out the foam behind it and it doesn't stick out as much as this one does, but it is nowhere near flush. I "upgraded" my old Eonon unit to this, and I am very disappointed about the fit.

Hey Lukas thanks for watching. Yeah they change the volume and tracks. I believe the voice control button can be held down to activate Siri during CarPlay, at least that's how it is in my VW GTI. You can also hold down on the bottom left corner of the screen during CarPlay and it will activate Siri. Hope that helps! If not I can ask Adrian or you can message him on Adrian. Hey you should let Adrian know he skipped a step lol! You’re supposed to cut two pieces of plastic on each side of the dash before putting the head unit in and it will sit flush! His is looking a lil janky

Not really, it lagged a bit when first opening up Fruit Ninja after the initial download but everything else works pretty well. Mostly using it for CarPlay and Netflix however so maybe not tested as extensively as you'd like. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching Thomas!

Hey, I have a problem. I installed the radio today, everything works great, only the following problem exists: If I turn off the ignition and pull out the key, the cockpit window remains illuminated (mileage, time and kilometers driven since the last "zero") and the light switch also remains illuminated although it is on "0", but the most annoying thing is that the radio of the key no longer works (so now I have to unlock it by hand)... I made sure if I plugged something wrong, there were only 4 plugs that had to be set... Can someone help me, that would be really good, because otherwise I think I'll send the radio back because of the battery etc...

@@erykkilianek1111 nope fits fine, no modification required. You do need to trim either side of the aperture by a couple of mm. I did this with a Stanley knife, the trimmed section isn’t visible with HU fitted whether it be aftermarket or factory
