I think that OP shows some questionable behavior, and I while I don't think she is really a bad person, these actions to alarm me at least a bit: 1) she flipped out on Lucas in the beginning and did not attempt to listen to him until after she yelled at him. (I will give this a minor break considering her feelings may have been severely hurt and she was not probably thinking straight) 2) She did not tell Lucas that she did not wish to attend the waiting, and waited until the wedding day when he messaged her to tell him that. At this point she knew Lola was a liar and manipulator (not to mention also being somewhat aware that she is abusive to Lucas), so she should have at least told her son directly. 3) she emotionally baited Lucas by saying how Lola talked about how he actually hates her and doesn't want her at the wedding, when she knew for a fact that was not true, and knew Lucas never said those things, so her rubbing this in his face especially at that time was kind of messed up to me. Not to mention she could have also simply talked to him about this stuff beforehand, and he could have canceled the wedding, It seemed for the last two, she did it in a way to intentionally cause Lucas to flip out and embarrass Lola (she did mention she is aware of how Lucas can get when he is angered by someone) for the sake of vengeance, while essentially using her son as a weapon out of spite.

Lucas should have probably done something about Lola earlier especially when she started verbally abusing her almost MIL to try & separate her from Lucas & especially when Lucas admitted the engagement ring incident. At least he came to his sense even if it was last minute & managed to find himself a woman that is implied to actually have common sense & doesn't act like a piece of shit for the sake of drama/try to isolate Lucas to keep for herself. I feel like Lola needs psychological help given her behavior, a part of me almost wonders if her parents were at fault in some way thanks to spoiling her. Well it was canceled. He dumped her at the alter. There is no wedding, but everything still has to be paid for considering its the day of. So catering, the location, bar, dj all still has to be paid for. Mil isn't paying for it, and Lucas isn't paying for it. All that's left is for Lola to pay for it.
