And the way the mother freaked out seeing her thirty-three year old son having sex, in his own apartment no less, after barging in unannounced, was incredibly creepy. Actually while I'm younger I make more then my husband. He works a trade that he's very happy with. Even though he's 5 years older. While I did have an issue at first more about him feeling inadequate or something, he doesn't care because he does all the lawn care and house maintenance. Because I know nothing about that. We've been together for almost a decade now and still have a very good relationship.

Actually in the middle ages up to about mid 1800s it was normal for large gap marriges. Not just older men to younger women but older women to younger men. Usually not for love but it still happened. It really wasn't until the mid 1900s that large age gaps were seen as "bad" but middle ages to mid 1800s people had multiple marriges in their life due to death or illness. Regardless he only want her for her money.

I don't care for the argument about age on either side, especially where money is involved. At this point in time, a Gen Xer is more likely to own a house or have some sort of asset compared to a millennial unless they were fortunate enough to snag a corporate job or start a successful business. OP could have worded her words more carefully. And no, this is not me defending her fiance since he's a jerk, but pointing out that he doesn't have a house/asset at his age and that he isn't getting any better is kind of a hit at every millennial.
