I'm presuming laws in Japan are different for business debts. An american business owner would create a corporation or LLC which isolates the owner from the debts of the company.

I absolutely love the idea that people who owe you money and refuse (or can’t) to pay can be picked up by people in a mysterious black van and are forced to live & work somewhere, where the debts are paid to the debtee!

They are different all over the world. In the UK you need to have two Directors (owners) to make a limited company (a company whose debts are limited to the company). Sole traders, a single person who owns their company, whether it has 100 employee's or just the owner, can have their personal assets seized to pay of company debts. You can also choose not to become limited, even if you are a partnership. There are other forms of companies, but those are the main ones.

I can usually zip through these at 3 - 4 minutes each, and THAT one just about did me in for the DAY! And story 3? Ben, your fiance is the WICKED BITCH of the EAST (West, North and South). Discipline starts at home and it must be done by the parents as soon as the children are old enough. Ruckus, wild undisciplined children are always the fault of the parents, unless there are special circumstances preventing them from being with and teaching their children. Also, they should be reported to CPS at the 1st sign of neglect or abuse so that the kids don't suffer from the fall out. OP should have contacted them as soon as the children were left on her doorstep. OP and the kids suffered needlessly for a week. Paula should never have been able to go on that vacation if the authorities were quickly involved.

Stop the L-O-N-G epilogues! Nobody cares that you reminisce about your childhood and want to raise your kid pretty much how everyone else wants to raise their kids (except it took 4 minutes to say that) Nobody cares that you do self care. 🙄. You said several times you love your child and watch him and marvel at him! Ok… we get it! You love your kid and want the best life for him. Nobody has the right to dump their kids on other people like that. She never even asked ahead of time, but even if she had asked ahead of time, she most likely wouldn't have taken no for an answer. This Paula person is way beyond rude and inconsiderate. BTW, I have a cousin named Paula, and her mother (my aunt) was named Clara. But, nobody called her Clara because her nickname was Teddy, and that is what everyone called her. I called her Aunt Teddy.
