I have a 2019 iPad Air gen 3 and I couldn't imagine not having it it does everything and a more affordable price then the pro model. One thing is for sure I'm totally diggin Apple going back to the iPhone 4 boxy shape. It was my fav design and makes their devices look good and professional. The Apple Pencil from the pro being brought to the Air is the best and glad it made its way finally to the Air.

I bought an iPad Air before thanksgiving in the US and love it. I was coming from a 5th gen iPad I wanted to give to my teenage nephew. We’re both happy. I mostly just use it to browse the web or watch Netflix so it serves my purposes wonderfully. Getting used to the fingerprint scanner in the button does take getting used to but added screen real estate is worth it.

Until iPad Air 4 was released, and I knew this is gonna replace my Pro 10.5. Oh, and my Pro 10.5 just started to develop the bright spot in the middle of the screen. Oh! Great video. I recently bought the ipad air 4 to help me with taking notes and reading digital text books for grad school and I love it. It's my first ipad to actually own, although as an educator I've had them in my classroom for years...but this new one just blows the older models out of the water. I also own a Microsoft Surface Pro and Surface laptop and I find myself reaching for the ipad now exclusively for handwritten note taking (of which I do a lot). I'm not totally in love with it for using apps like MS word but it's good for banging out a quick draft or a grad school writing assignment and then I jump on my laptop or surface pro to do the final editing. and I'm still constantly learning more and more things it can do that I was not aware of.

Have the iPad Air 4 as well. Still needs quite a bit of improvements on the software side. When attached to an ultra wide monitor, resolution does not scale properly and u get a stretched image. For some websites, web browser forms with drop down menus do not work properly and I have to go back to using a laptop/ desktop. File system management has quite a few quirks and have to relearn how to do things or learn workarounds. It’s a nice supplementary device, but hard to recommend as anyone’s only computer.

Nice review. Thank you for the care and detail you put into the video. It makes it a pleasure to watch, and listen and the information comes in a way that we can understand and remember. I have the first gen Apple Pencil but I don't charge it directly on the iPad. The 1st gen Apple Pencil comes with a tiny adapter that lets me charge it with iPad/iPhone wall charger. Logitech Crayon is so much better for charging (and has a power off) but it doesn't work on my old iPad Pro. Till last year (iOS 14), there was no way to tell the battery level of the Pencil so we often had no charge when we tried to use it, and that discouraged use, so we kind of forgot about it till 2020 when my daughter started doing school from home. We got into the habit of charging it overnight because the Pencil made doing home work very easy. So there is a simple solution but requires *some* human effort. Other than charging, the Pencil is very close to a real pen in use. It works very well. My 9 year old also uses the Pencil to draw, and colour with the Paper app. That app is magic!

Really having a hard time deciding between an iPad Air (4) 64gb with the magic keyboard and pencil or the new Pro 11” and wait/save for the extras. Wait for it to ship and wait for the pencil and keyboard as I save for a few months to get those accessories. Or get the 64gb air. My budget is tight, but I’ll get the education discount. The difference between the 256 air and 128 pro is like $50. But the 64 air would give me room for those necessary accessories and no waiting. I sold my MacBook Air laptop to make this happen. I have a desktop iMac I rarely use. Main use for iPad will be writing papers, web browsing, email, bit of zoom, media consumption and streaming, reading, editing photos, note taking and light drawing. It will be my first iPad in many years and I’m really excited. What would you do? Spend my money! lol.
