Apple iPhone 5s Review Part 1
Aaron reviews the Apple iPhone 5s, the company's newest smartphone. Available at Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile in several colors, the Apple iPhone 5s offers an Apple A7 CPU, 4-inch Retina Display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording, 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage (in this unit), and iOS 7. Special features include a fingerprint sensor and improved camera. It's Apple's best smartphone yet but in 2013, the competition is incredibly tight between Android and iOS. Can the iPhone 5s woo Android users over to the platform (and keep existing ones)? Part 1 of 2.

I guess it's for the better that Apple doesn't hold that patent. What I like about this reviewer is the fact he's not too biased when it comes to his points; he emphasizes the fact that the way our markets are set up promote diversity. Not one phone is going to do the job for everyone, it's what matters to you, the individual and your needs. People need to stop being fanboys and appreciate what we have going on in the markets here.

Agreed. The Samsung Vibrant has a 4" screen and it was released around 2010. The screen size is one of the only reasons holding me back from getting an iPhone.

We still can't deny the fact that it still has a small screen. 4.7-5" is the sweet spot for watching movies and playing games

Alex's statement was that "all Android offers is a big screen". My response simply pointed out why this is incorrect; I did not at any point use the word "better", as that is dependent upon one's criteria (as you stated).

[Continued] You can enjoy iOS without having to irrationally despise Android and vice versa. While the increased functionality of Android better suits my requirements, I am a frequent user of both platforms and they both excel in many areas. Finally, the comment response system does not appear to be working properly, so I should clarify that both of these comments have been directed towards "Alex Harris".

The numbers dont lie... HTC one : 2gb RAM, insane speakers , 1080 x 1920 display. IPhone : 1gb of RAM,moderate speakers and only a 640 x 1136 display.

Im going FROM Galaxy S4 to this beauty! Haven't had an iPhone since iPhone 3GS. But with the combination iOS 7 and 5S, this shit's a beast!

I switched from the gs4 to the 5s and I love it I got tired of the stutter and lag I've been with android since the G1 this is my first iPhone and I can say the s4 was my last android device it's so smooth and fast I just love the fact that it's always smooth I hated the stutter

Actually, I have an Atrix. My brother has the 5S. The fingerprint sensor works just as well. I've used it since it first came out two and a half years ago. Don't go around blabbering about how we're android trolls and hating on android phones because they came up with it first. The fingerprint sensor on the Atrix and the 5S are made by the same company. It's just that Apple bought that company, so Motorola and other android's didn't have the hardware suppiers for fingerprint sensors after that.

"They shipped 60 million" No, they have not. That is the estimated total number of shipments by the end of 2013. None of what you have said is relevant to my statement. The Galaxy S 4 did in fact surpass the iPhone 5 in sales following its release, which means it would be incorrect to assert that they are "sitting on shelves".

The pull down notifications were in iOS for a while. I think they simply gave it a better facelift (closer to Android).

I think you forgot to mention the fact that this is the only smartphone on the market that has a 64-bit processor. For anyone who knows anything about CPU hardware knows this is a big deal. Probably worth mentioning...

You know what's really funny about the iPhone and it's iOS, is when they announce new features at their conferences that android has had for years. Once they announce the new features, the crowed goes crazy like it's the best thing since sliced bread lol. I'm just curious, do most people who own iPhones even realize that features on the iPhone are very limited compared to android devices? Just saying!

I've tried out my friends GS4 and some of the features didn't work a lot of the time since the phone was noticeably laggy and i found that pathetic since android has some great features but was preventing them from functioning due to the lag. The camera on the GS4 wasn't that impressive to me either. the one on my iPhone 5s is amazing and i love it. I have used many android phones and went back to iOS for the fluidity and lagless experience.

honestly i dont understand why people care so much about the design staying the same (btw the color changes too people) because i see alot of android phones that all look similar, but they get praised for everything about them. the iphone sticks out, and its design is beautiful, so why are people complaining? the specs are improved, and also everyone should know how it works by now, it goes 4-4s design, change to 5-5s, now 6 will be new. so please take a minute to think before you hate.

I just upgraded to a 5s a few hours ago. For me it was a huge upgrade because I was using the 4. I agree that the iphone 5 users are butthurt, I did the smart thing and waited to upgrade because I knew there was going to be a better iphone eventually.

someone commented earlier that they went from blackberry to iPhone because Google didn't have a cloud backup system.....are you fucking high? Google cloud: 25gb cloud storage for free from Google. Gmail: backs up all your content (contacts, app data, calender, etc) Google photo backup: backs up your photos to Google. iPhones: 5gb of cloud storage for your 64gb phone......yippie Litterally just stating facts here.

's' version is always just slight upgrade, if you want new design or body, then it will be ip6.. A7 processor is the major upgrade of 5s.. just like pc, the processor is the core of the upgrade... falling off but still they run out of stock on the first day of launch.. which statistic of "falling off" are you referring from?

I was about to say get a Galaxy S4 but since you need iTunes. Get the 5c, the 5c is basically a colorful 5 so you won't notice a big difference in performance. If your iPod served you well, like I've said.. Get the 5c.

Because a big screen and being able to customize a few things makes everything a lot better, alright. People who buy iPhones know that they can't really customize anything, yet they buy them anyways. Why, you may ask? Because many of us don't give a shit about a big-ass plastic phone that can be customized a bit. When we buy an iPhone, we know EXACTLY what we get, and what we can do until the next iOS.

most people using android phones are getting to use great innovations, but let's get real about it, all that they are doing is something that they learnt by copying from iOs and Apple. One must appreciate the pioneer in Apple who helped Microsoft get an idea for Windows and also gave light to Google to come up with something like Android. *Rolls eyes back* Yes, that's the ONLY thing that changed in respects to the processor. Now, if you want to justify your sarcasm, sure, they added a finger print scanner, adjustments to the camera, color variation, etc. But still, the only difference with the processor itself is the fact that it's 64 bit.

Apple still controls only 13% of the market share. The VAST majority, we're talking like over 95% of people buying iPhones right now are upgrading from an iPhone. So it really doesn't matter how much they sell because they are just being sold to blind fanboys.

Not really because if you look at the bigger picture here you would notice that it's Android who is in the drivers seat hear not the iphone. Look at worldwide smartphone market share and you will see that Android owns well over %70 percent of the Market and growing so Aaron has a very valid point when he asks if the iphone5s has what it takes to overtake the industry leading Android O.S. Aaron is also very fair when comparing all the different phones so please don't try to judge his opinions.

I'd go with the nexus if you like android: faster updates if you care about the latest software.The Note 3 has beastly specs on paper and it's a great device, and you can always root to have the latest software. The iPhone is obviously different, and doesn't seem to have the greatest specs on paper compared to other devices, but it still gets the job done. It doesn't need a lot of power compared to android phone because no widgets, etc. I'm getting the iPhone, but it's all preference.

I remember when Apple made a huge mistake when they first came out with their own version of Google maps and how it was so bad that Apple had to give iphone users the heads up to go with Google maps. Also many people Forget the SIRI is also not a product of Apple and that is was originally intended to be used on Verizon phones. Users of the iphone like to also bash Samsung but yet Samsung parts are found understand the hood of their beloved iphone so really people need to do their homework..

actualy you can put a better pile for every one who is using it,because loading case far outweighs the iphone and also if it falls stuche iphone charger is damaged or whatever, that would be a good idea
