Something for everyone to remember. While Key FOB's are great and keyless entry is great. Remember that also makes it extremely easy for a criminal to gain access to your vehicle. All they need is a laptop and I guess maybe even a smart phone is enough. Especially if your staying in a hotel / motel and vehicle is right outside the door. Just stand close use laptop scan for signals... find it boost that signal and all done you have access to that vehicle. Granted it is a little bit more complicated than that.... But do not underestimate criminals...(from reading UK papers this appears to be how they are doing it in the UK and I would assume elsewhere). It is why I always keep my key FOB's in a Faraday pouch and especially when traveling.

Just think, one day years in the future, it will be standard to have digital access to cars, and the most confusing thing to a criminal will be a simple metal key, because with everything using digital entry, they will have forgotten how to pick a key lock.

There are actually tools you can get which makes it easy to get into a car. One of my friends can crack a car door lock in something like 10 seconds consistently. There are also tools that allow for starting a car without the key. As for the medical thing, it sounds like she wasn't hitting things at top speed, and was likely smacking the car into things just slow enough to dent and ruin the car, as she did say she was somewhat injured. Tells me the impacts were low speed and intended to mess the car up, rather than fully total it. Particularly because in the end she had to pay for repairs.

Geez she really couldn't grow up & kept blaming everyone else. I guess now she needs to learn how to be a big girl as she works off her debt. Even worse(besides no longer having family to rely on) she did this with no driving license so if she ever pays everything off & tries to have a life on her own she's probably screwed when it comes to attempting to get a license.
