I listen to people saying that all the time. It’s much better than it was in the past. Back in the 60s and 70s, people adopted ROCKS! Some got married and even had pebbles. Then it was that gosh danged chia pets. Growing grass on your pet. Other things to adopt, none alive. Babies with paws? Great idea. (Sux to be old.)

This isn't about whether a baby is a pet or child. It's about facing the responsibility of infertility and kidnapping. Grace actually thought she could kidnap a baby and pass it off as hers to her husband and MIL.
