He felt for her pulse, but found none. There was no breath.

Actually for ATTEMPTED premeditated murder the least amount of years you can get is 2yrs in the states. You can actually get more time for Financial Crimes against Corporations then for Violent crimes. Hell drug charges can get more time then violent crimes. Especially if you don't have a history of Criminal activity. The "Justice" system is seriously messed up. You know there are people still serving time in prison on Weed Charges from the 80s and 90s. For just a gram of weed.

Uhm...only 3 YEARS for attempted murder? That was PREMEDITATED attempted murder which has a much longer sentence. It depends on the state, but 10 - 30 years in prison is the average. Thanks for the story!
