I am a 1st Year B. Tech CSE student in India. So, I am going to get my first Macbook. I have been a Windows user lately but I am planning to get a Macbook. But I am confused between M1 AIR, M2 AIR and M2 Pro 13/14. And which storage will you recommend me 256GB or 512GB? And see I am planning to use it for a long run for a minimum of 4 years. So, looking from productivity perspective which one would you recommend? I would be using it for Coding, Programming, DSA, Machine Learning, Android Development, IOS development, etc. Please recommend me the best option. And I checked the M1 Pro 512GB. Apple doesn't sells it anymore in Inida. They have removed it from Apple India website. And the M2 Pro is quite out of my budget. I have a budget of around 1-1.5 lakhs. So, kindly help me and tell me which one should I get.

@@ArmanKhan-no2nv if you compare same model 8gb 256 for both then for same u get same performance because m2 has better process but half slower memory as compared to M1 , and m1 has better speaker , better heat management, better keyboard and looks are upto you .. and most important u can get 16gb ram varient + 1 tb external SSD for same price with M1...

@@kiranaryal709 No, if I get the M1 Air then I would like to stick with the Base Variant viz. 8+256GB. And it costs 83-85K. And I would get a Samsung 256GB SSD. Cause I would change my laptop in the next 3 years, if I get the M1 Air but I will have to use the M2 Air for atleast 4 years cause it costs more. It would be around 1.37 Lakhs. So, I guess it would be better to get M1 Air base variant.

Hello, I have an 8GB variant and I do web dev regularly, but if u think about mobile development, android studio works perfectly, and expo cli works perfectly. With 8 GB ram, I can open VS code , ios simulator and AVD easily. Of course it uses swap memory (SSD) so everything will work on 8, if u have the budget then go for 16 on the safer side but if not don't push yourself

My friend recently bought M2 Air. He never turns on the performance core cause right after the base temp of M2 air hits 80-90 and Air's don't have heat sinks (fans). So he uses the efficient cores only for all tasks and the efficient cores are equivalent to M1 Air cores so at the end you're getting M1 air performance but at what cost ? 30k more. Believe me go for M1 Air 16gb varient rather than M2 air any variants otherwise you'll regret later
