Thanks for this video. I have two of the now discontinued Clique trays by Hengedocks. Does exactly the same job as the two in your video, and has more or less the same problems with them. The solution to the flexing when picking it up at the trackpad end is to simply not pick it up that way. Either hold both sides (needs both hands), or the top and bottom in the middle (can be done with one hand with hands of average or larger size). The one handed pickup takes a little practice to make sure you have a good grip on the bottom edge, but no big deal. Your workarounds are fine. But they may not prevent structural failure on the tray plastic over time (from repeated flexing). So much easier to just avoid it at all in the first place by picking it up as I described. Been using mine that way for several years now with no problem. I do most of my typing with it on my lap, which is where the trays really work, having it just sitting on the desk doesn't really offer much benefit. Also a bit disappointing that after at least several years of this kind of product being available, and at least two generations of them, manufacturers still have not sorted the common issues. Mostly it just needs to be a bit stiffer and more robust.

Just brought home the Mac 24 with a Magic Trackpad. I have a stand for the Mac and want to rest the keyboard and trackpad on a thigh or arm of the recliner. So, after researching and needing an immediate fix..... Painters Blue Tape holding a paint stir stick to the back of the board and pad. Works GREAT. Looks fine from the top but, still a "tacky" solution. But I like the concept. Tomorrow a piece of sheet acrylic will get some tacky goo (museum gel) applied and create my final solution.

When I used a PC keyboard with my mac mini I created a custom keyboard layout with ukulele, and put a couple of stickers on the window and alt keys. Worked very well.

The previous version of the Magic bridge had a rubber thing that separated the keyboard and the trackpad and held them in place, and prevented them rubbing against one another.

I cannot mount with magic keyboard with Touch ID. However on the box Touch ID keyboard seen on my package.

I use the keyboard without the number pad, and the track pad, no mouse. One of the great things is NOT having them tied together so I can have both in the right ergonomic positions for what I’m working on. But then I only use them on a desk...

Would this set up work with pc too or only mac? I’m trying to ditch mouse

You can get wireless keyboard and trackpad combinations for PCs so those would probably be your best option. You can probably get the Apple setup working with Windows but you'll probably need to do some driver bodgery to make all the gestures work and you'd be dealing with a Mac keyboard layout which is slightly different from a PC one.

I'm using the bested and its brilliant , replaced a wonky table , the units don't fit too snugly which is fine as I don't want to damage expensive apple stuff and its easy to take out to charge , the tracked takes some getting used to after a mouse though

I can only speak for the MagicBridge as I returned the other one however it doesn't make a noticeable difference to the angle

Honestly what I would love is for someone to take the Magic Keyboard apart, rip out the insides, and put it inside a proper KeyChron or similar chassis, with the touchID sensor included. That would be amazing. This thing SUCKS for typing on. I can't stand it, coming from a Razer Ornata.

Or use some Blu Tack and mush it till it becomes flat and set the trackpad on top of it. Push it and boom, set in place for years to come

That's actually a good shout! Would need to check how well it sticks to the smooth plastic surfaces but if it does then that would definitely work better from the perspective of being thick enough to overcome the feet on the trackpad

I did exactly this towards the end of the video. I also tried it with the Bestand one however there was still enough flex for the corner to pop out and get stuck.
