No. The child was already 5 years old when his great grandfather died. It's not possible that he was the reincarnation of his great grandfather. I don't believe in reincarnation anyway. So I wouldn't have believed a word she said, and I would have been very cautious around her. It was a red flag that she would try and kidnap the child because she thought he was the reincarnation of her dad.

Actually I went through this situation myself. From Janine's POV. Only difference was that it was my son and me thinking and comparing him to his uncle.. My brother passed away in 2010 my son was born 5 yrs later. I named my child after my brother. Now it's been 13 yrs since he died and I still see my brother in my son but I know now that while he may do things that really remind me of my brother I can see that my son is my son and not my brother. I've been getting therapy for a long time and I hope 🤞 it helps nonetheless

Unfortunately grief can really cause a mental breakdown, especially if it was a very dear one. In this case at least the child was recovered and MIL will get the help she needs. Hopefully she will recover. 😢

I don't know about this one. The little guy was born with a soul, whether reincarnated or brand new. If another soul 'kicked' his soul out, to take up residence, that's a possession, not reincarnation. The MIL was likely destroyed inside by the death of her Dad. Pain can make us do things we generally wouldn't. I feel empathy for her.

It is interesting how people have not questioned the way the mother talked - the words she used to the grief stricken MIL. They are enough to push her over the edge and the child could have been hurt. The mother has a problem herself and not just her child is in the hands of a mentally ill person. For out of her own fear, she has put the child in more danger. One, threading to lock her up and throw away the key. Wow, how nasty can you be, to a grieving person, You would think she would try and stay calm for the child’s safety.

I think it was a mistake to tell the MIL that the neighbor was coming for Jacob. The neighbor could have just destract MIL until the parents got there. Then MIL would've not left the house with the son.

No they r not. It was called that years ago but now it’s Mental hospital, Psychiatric Hospital, & Behavioral clinics. My Dad was n a place called Western State Hospital n Boliver , Tn. From the time I was 18 months to age 18. He had several mental breakdowns . This woman was having a nervous/ mental breakdown

With all the technology surrounding us nowadays… I think they should bring back asylums/mental hospitals. Cameras would not allow the horrible treatment that used to be given. I feel for Janine. Grief and medication can cause you to disconnect from reality. Jacob was probably not afraid because he was with his grandma. Janine needs medical help (mental) and lots of love. Keeping Jacob away from Janine is the best thing for her, even if she can't see it. Peace to Janine and her entire family.

You can always tell when a holiday is coming up. KZbin starts having commercials every five minutes. Greedy jerks! It’s as bad a TV, and that’s why I stopped watching TV years ago. I also remember when the radio actually played music. They’d play 4-5, or more songs then have a couple minutes to pay the bills. Now, it’s just talking about things that don’t really matter, 20-25 minutes of commercials an hour. (At least) then they play maybe five songs in an hour. Man my old butt misses the 80’s!

I can believe in reincarnation but there is one thing the grandmother didn't put into account. Her father was in a 5 year old body. So physical he was reset. That means his body can't do what his old body could. Afterall it most likely took him years in his old boy to build a stomach capable of downing lots of chocolate. Also you wouldn't think of giving a 5y old alcohol or tobacco. The new body wouldn't be familiar with it.
