All I can say is THANK YOU! You step-by-step took us through each project, you never jump cut or sped up your process, & you zoomed in to show us the Inspector portion close up. Basically, that is everything that every other tutorial I've sought out since getting Motion only two weeks ago lacked in their tutorials. Thank you for a super helpful and in depth tutorial 👏 - I would like to use the lower third banner for place names in a project I'm working on in Motion. If I add a Group to preserve the keyframes and share the effect as an Apple ProRes 4444 would I be able to upload a copy to my project, duplicate the effect and edit the text to suit different place names?

Hi, I am new to Motion and am trying to follow your tutorials, but my version doesn't seem to reflect what you are showing. There must be something wrong with my set-up / configuration but I don't know what or where. For example, right at the beginning you create the rectangle which comes in as an outline - you switch on the "Fill" and switch off the "outline". When I created mine, it came up filled with no outline - out of the box! I then note that in the project panel where you sho Group and Recangle, your screen shows blue lines with "pass through" and "normal". I see nothing to the right of the open padlocks to the left of the blue lines (this is at about 1:45 into the video). You next switch on "Safe Zones" from the View dropdown. I turn on "safe zones" using the same process but they are not showing up in the view area. I need to find out why my system (an iMAC 27 with fully up to date o/s and software) isn't replicating what you are showing, before I continue. I had a similar issue with another of your tutorials where I very carefully followed step by step, got 75% of the way through successfully but then it couldn't /wouldn't do what you were demonstrating (animating logos). I tried several times to ensure I hadn't made a mistake but kept coming up short at the final stage and finally gave up in frustration. My Motion is version 5.5.3. Thanks

Hello Jenn. I get kind of an issue when creating a lower-third, for a defined length, let's say 10 seconds, with an behavior, text under-titled -> Tilt in. Works nice in Motion, and in FCP if I don't stretch the length of the title. But if I do, like have this title 60 sec long in FCP, stretching by grabbing the side oh the title in the timeline (I hope I can make myself clear) to 60 sec or whatever, it will also stretch the duration of the tilt-in effect. I'd like to keep the duration of the tilt-in (or whatever applied behavior) constant... See ? How shall we proceed then ?

Even exporting as a movie in ProRes 444 I'm not getting the alpha channels. In FCPX it is black instead of transparent. Any help would be great.
