I would like to expand my Motion 5 skills. I use it with Final Cut pro and would be interested in a course depending on the cost and amount of hours included. I have enjoyed and appreciated your evaluation of other animation and editing tools . Keep it up.
@EmperorMaxASMR3 жыл бұрын
Do the course Jenn, however...speaking as someone who has done these things over the years...you've got stiff competition. Keep in mind that a good solid basics course with a deep dive into what you can do with those basics with an eye towards social media tools, animations, behaviors would be useful. There are only a handful of these things available. There's lots of tutorials out there for basics. That's not what you're after here. I mean you have to create a foundations as part of anything you do, but you have to take it to the next level beyond explaining tool X and what tool X can do. The shear volume of capabilities in Motion 5 is staggering which is to say, the sky is the limit.

I think you could also apply the Overshoot behavior to the Twirl’s Twirl parameter with the same effect but much quicker, instead of having to keyframe those values. 🤔

I appreciate the way that you synced up the screen recording with your voice track and sitting at the desk video so we can hear the clicks on the keyboard as we are watching the screen recording. Those kind of touches keep your audience involved from start to finish. Also, bringing in the "fun" soundtrack signifies the "joy" you feel in being the master of your world. Very personable. Keeping your mentorship in digestible bites is the best strategy. A 40 minute paid course in Apple Motion is overkill for casual observers.

If you do a full course (and I would love it if you did), I would just ask that you include something that no other course includes: When you explain "how" to do something, be sure to include "why." Because without the "why" part, we're really only learning how to do the project you're showing us. If we understand the "WHY," then we can take the principles and apply them to other projects. It's the WHY that empowers us to know when different commands, different filters, different behaviors, different parameters can be useful. Without the "WHY" part, we're really only learning to IMITATE, not to CREATE.

Hi, congrats for your amazing video. I’ve got a question … I made in Apple Motion a custom animation with my logo to push my viewers to subscribe to my channel and I “exported” it with audio effects into fcpx as a generator and it works amazingly well but without the audio. Can you help me fixing this issue please? Thank you so much 💖
@JennJager3 жыл бұрын
Hi; Audio has never been included with Motion templates in Final Cut. What Motion does is save the audio inside the Media folder of the Generator. Navigate to ~/Movies/Motion Templates/Generators/CategorySavedIn/YourTemplate/Media and import the audio file into Final Cut. Line up the audio with the template to synchronize it (if the audio is offset from the beginning, you will need to know how many frames to from the beginning to place it.)

Great video, thank you. I followed your logo #2 example exactly and it plays perfect in Motion. I exported it with the settings you recommended at the end of example #1, but when I play the exported file, I don't see any of the star effects outside of my logo border. Its very strange that it works correctly in Motion.. Thoughts on what to troubleshoot? Thanks. Update: I changed the Codec from Apple ProRes 4444 to H264 on the export and the star effects play perfect in the file now. The file is also much smaller in size now too (4MB vs 119MB).

I thought I recognised that face. I see you have motion 5 and in my opinion the best software money can buy. Motion 5 is an incredible piece of software that you can create the exact same as Toonly with the bezier. The things, or cr@p I have purchased online when I wished I would of bought Motion 5 years ago. Just when I see something in Adobe which I don't have and begrudge paying a subscription for, with research I am able to create the same thing in Motion 5 quicker, faster rendering and so on. I am hoping that more is going to be introduced with the 3D USDZ Files and for $50 for Motion is a steal. Jenn try some Toonly drawing with the Bezier unticking the picture you are tracing around. And if you don't know after you done your tracing with Bezier, click the bezier in timeline, then click inspector then go to shape, untick fill, click outline. Then to library, behaviours, write on dragging it across to the Bezier. Hoping to see a video on this topic soon by your good self. I am sure you will figure it out but if not send us a message and will make a short 10 second video to send you. This is something I think you will excel in making Toonly animations in Motion 5. AND ONE MORE THING! You never thought you could make Toonly animation in Motion 5 right? :)
