I'm guessing they toss that in so she doesn't have to pay him spousal support after she leaves him. But yeah, sometimes I wish they would just casually mention that they maybe had a prenup or something, and it's not always cheating.

I think they sort of have to do it that way. Because this story was originally made for Japanese viewers and in Japan, divorce is not No Fault like here in the US. Unless both partners agree to the divorce - and it sounds to me like Nathan was trying desperately to hold on to his sugarmama, you need to PROVE cause. So there are 5 reasons you can get divorced in Japan for, like abuse and an uncurable physical or mental condition and such but those are almost impossible to prove in court. For example nobody reports abuse so there's no record. ADULTERY is the number one cause of divorce in Japan because it's the easiest to prove. You notice how OP was tipped off by a friend and then hired a detective? That's exactly how a woman I knew got free of her husband. She used those photographs a detective took of her husband hanging all over a pretty young thing to get him to finally sign those divorce papers. If you got proof, the longer the other party holds out the more it'll end up costing him. The original Japanese audience expected adultery because that is how you get divorced there. These stories are just translated from Japanese, have the names westernized, then reposted here.

If Nathan is the OP's _husband_ and Lisa is Nathan's _sister_ , then the title of this video is wrong. It should be "My SIL" or at least an attempted effort of "my husband's sister" Nathan is not OP's brother. Lisa is not Nathan's wife
