Karen wasn't very naive, I don't understand why she gave her house to Bristol,. Bristol was clever & nasty knowing she was robbing an old woman of her only possession. Old women in Japan expect to be looked after their daughters in law there was nothing wrong with asking for her food. These types of revenges sound so petty & very unpleasant too.
