Clearly you have never been in an ab*sive relationship! It isn't that easy. The sad part is, people like you truly believe it is so simple to just leave. You have no knowledge of psychology or what the psychological impacts are of psychological abuse! It creates a prison. A torture chamber you cannot escape. It eats you alive! Then regurgitates you leaving you broken. You are unloved, unwanted, undesired. You are nothing. No one cares. No one would notice if you disappeared. Everything that you were is dead and long gone. Turned to dust. There is no hope. So, it is best to not even try. There is no help. Once broken you can never be fixed. You will forever be nothing. You make such a stupid comment based out of your clear entitled ignorance! That is why so many people never speak up. Because people like you judge us. Call us stupid. Blame us for our abuse. For not simply leaving and pressing charges. It get worse when idiots like you don't see physical marks. You don't care to understand that the worst ab*se isn't physical. You can escape physical ab*se by closing your eyes and holding onto a secret oasis that no one but you can get to. But psychological ab*se, that is the ultimate control. The ultimate prison. Trust me. There is no oasis from that! Even if you get away from them. They have succeeded in destroying you! Don't make such comments. It shows your ignorant entitlement.

There is also a culture in the UAE which considers women who are 300-400 lbs to be absolutely sexy! Some other parts of the world consider women with big hips and and meat on their bones to be more attractive than skinny women. In fact, American beauty standards are considered weird and unhealthy by other countries.

Yeah, and all that "let's fat shame so they want to lose weight folks" don't get that it does backfire. Makes someone depressed, which makes it harder to get the energy and will to do better. Total sabotage move. My dad pulled that crap on me for over 20 years. His work was his exercise (outdoor, labor intensive) and he was always nearly underweight because of his metabolism. Most of my jobs were at least half-sedentary, so he had no clue how much a struggle it was to keep the weight off for anyone. He hated that I was overweight, but bitched at me when I'd go to the gym or kickboxing classes. Then he'd make fun of me when he'd see me doing cardio videos at home. He wouldn't teach me proper form with the weight training equipment we had so I wouldn't hurt myself, and had it in a side bedroom so jam packed you couldn't use it without tripping and falling, then complain I wasn't using it (70s era stuff that takes up a bunch of real estate. Got a shed as a workout room and spread them out, so now I CAN use it all safely). He complained of the smell when I'd cook healthy things and bought nothing but processed crap and desserts... and then told me my eating habits were bad. Nothing I did was right. It took relearning some 30 years of bad habits (and getting rid of his voice in my head) to lose weight. Still some slip-ups when stress was at it's highest, but I'd remember my goals and it's been a steady downhill progression since.
@tsubakiofmelancholy6297
@tsubakiofmelancholy6297 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. The guy says he is fat shaming her so she will become depressed and lose weight. But , it doesn't work that way. That will make her eat even more. I had a friend who was overweight and ate allot. One day she broke down and told me why. Because. She was hoping that her weight and eating would cause a heart attack and at least then the pain would be gone.
@pinkmonkeybird2644
@pinkmonkeybird2644 Жыл бұрын
What I have learned over the years is that you cannot live a healthy life for somebody else, you have to want it for yourself and be committed to reach your goals. Fat shaming seems so pointless. People are self-aware; they are well aware if they are obese and they know that it’s unhealthy to be heavy. So what is the point of making fun of them? How does that help the situation? It’s just one more excuse to be cruel to others hidden in being “helpful.” I guess it is understandable that the backlash to all this fat shaming is the “health at every size” movement, but it is dangerous to take that to extremes. No one is healthy at 500 lbs, just as no one is healthy at 80 lbs, and either extreme will almost certainly reduce your life span and limit how active you can be. I just hope that people can love themselves enough to want to stick around for as long as possible.

Losing 90 pounds in 6 months is fairly unrealistic. Maybe even dangerous for your health. Also difficult to maintain. Not impossible, and it IS an achievement. But its an extreme program, losing 45% of your body weight in that time. And the recovery from surgery to get rid of excess skin afterwards....Things don't bounce back at 50 like they do at 25 either. Yes, this is the text morality tale universe where things like this can happen & karma always wins.....just don't expect it to necessarily translate to real life.

She was so adamant that OP was at fault for dipsh*t being abusive towards his wife and that she’d keep her attractiveness while OP didn’t (even claimed a wife gaining weight caused men to have commitment issues). Who did she think was going to be his punching bag when OP was no longer in the picture? On a side-note, you have the same name as my son’s MIL and my first thought when I saw it was “Thank God we both are Mother-in-love to our children’s spouses and not the Monster-in-laws we read about in these stories” so thank you for that bit of a pick me up on a day that started off rough.

I don’t understand these stories because I would lose my ever loving mind if a man ever spoke to me like this. Cops would’ve been called to pick me up !! I’ve been in a few relationships where a man tried to treat me like that but I always left right then and there !! These guys let you know who they really are if you pay attention and don’t rush into marriage. Remember it always starts with little stinging remarks and he will always claim to be just joking and then tell you that you are too sensitive… It’s better to leave than stay and have kids because kids make it worse. The man now has you really trapped and dependent on him so his behavior will get worse. More controlling and even slaps or pushes you. It’s hard after you have invested years into the relationship as well as finances but if you stay you will lose so much more - possibly even lose your life 😢

Because abusers disguise themselves as good people, tricking the victim into investing time and love into the relationship. Then once the relationship is established (in some cases after marriage), the abuser slowly begins to reveal their true colors, isolating the victim from loved ones and making them slowly doubt themselves. Abusers may also use fear to control the victim. By this point, the victim feels powerless, worthless, and trapped. The take the abuse because they believe it themselves or feel like they can’t do anything.

"You need more fat shaming so you get depressed and stop eating." Wrong you jerk. Depression often results in even more eating. Once you figure the one you love finds you disgusting. There is no point. I knew someone who was depressed and overweight. One day she told me the reason she eats so much is "so maybe I will have a heart attack and drop dead. At least then the pain will go away."

Anyone else getting tired of the women in these stories being inexplicably still married to such toxic, blatantly abusive men? Abusers usualy get away with it because they pour onthe charm after going too far; the cycle of love and abuse is part of the gaslighting. When the husband is this much of an unrepentant a-hole that you can't even see what the wife ever saw in him or why they're still together, it just makes me want to throw my hands up and say, "Eff it! If she's willing to tolerate this, then she deserves him!"

Kinda wish Larry tried to beg one last time cause it'd be funny if he got desperate when she finished off & was about to block him again & also got upset that she was insulting him/calling him out. Also jfc this guy is creepy after deciding he wants his wife back thanks to her body. I want to imagine OP got a restraining order against him after this. OP should have divorced him long ago but at least she's away from him, she has the support & love she deserves plus found a new guy that cares & won't abuse her. I want to imagine the ex-model/affair partner goes to OP sobbing about her troubles & begging for forgiveness as if that will lead to the ex-model getting freed from the curse of Larry. I imagine word likely got our that she not only lost her job but led to the divorce of the person that went on to replace her. It's probably really embarrassing that she mocked this woman for being fat & soon to be divorced cause her husband didn't want her only to gain the pounds OP lost & end up in OP's situation while OP replaces her. OP obviously tells her to get lost & tell Larry not to break the restraining order before closing the door on her. I also imagine Larry is miserable cause he wants a hot skinny person. His affair partner finally snaps & makes his life a living hell for ruining her life & wanting to throw her away for his ex-wife/someone hotter. She makes him suffer & makes him forced to hear her insult him the way he does fat people & then making him shut up if he tries to argue for his double standards. In the end they finally split & Larry is haunted by the treatment he was given cause his ego couldn't take what he dished out let alone the model giving it tenfold. He soon realizes no one wants him like his ex-wife said & he can't contact his wife nor daughter anymore. Maybe one day while miserable he sees his ex-model girlfriend, she's lost weight but is probably not what he wants but he's desperate. She rejects him, tells him thanks to his actions she had to work as a stripper cause everyone knows she's a homewrecker & then makes him run away thanks to insulting him again to remind him why she forced them to finally split up. This feels weird to type since I'm fat but at the same time this monster of a man needs punished & some how his hatred of fat people that aren't him is the irony punishment

I think Larry Foltin should be more considerate and respectful when telling his wife the reason why she needs to lose the weight. It’s more to do with her health, that he cares about her and wants her to live a long and healthy life. I know because obesity runs in my family. Obesity due to overeating the wrong type of foods often leads to diabetes type 2 and other deadly health issues.

She went from 200 pounds to 110? Unless she has a tiny frame, that is grossly underweight. And marrying a man who fell in lust with her new body? What if she gains weight? What then? Age will slow down her metabolism more. Is this MODELING AGENCY CEO going to drop her? She jumped from one abusive guy to another one who probably is outwardly nice right now. But dating and marrying a CEO of a modeling agency is like a recipe for an eating disorder. This man sees nothing but hot, svelte models all day. That is going to drive anyone with a healthy self esteem insane, and OP's self esteem isn't even all that healthy. This poor woman though she won. I would've stayed single and worked on my inner and outer self.
