I wholeheartedly concur that the wives shouldn't tell the mistresses so early in the game as to what the real situation is and what the outcome is about to be. BUT I think that the reason why the wives let those mistresses know so much is a half-hearted attempt to gloat about the trouble the mistress is about to be in with the cheater-cheater ex- husband. I think that she should actually wait until after the divorce is finalized, and the mistress finds out for herself what the real deal is.
