Appendicitis may not be life threatening - at first -, but it still requires emergency surgery hoping to prevent the appendix from rupturing. Once it ruptures, you've crossed into a very life threatening situation.

I had a burst appendix this year. I'm in my sixty's and it's no joke, but I didn't need family help in the hospital or when I got home. It's all done by keyhole surgery these days and yeah, full of gas and distended for weeks after. Margaret is milking it.

The MIL actually expects her daughter in law to bring the massage chair she'd been gifted to HER house and then graciously allow her to come over and use it ... occasionally? Wow. Just WOW. The delusion is strong with this one.

One thing about this story is that the non existent of nurses and doctors in the hospital aren't there supposed to be a nurse there to take care the patient. It bothers me that the writers forgot that there's nurses everywhere in the hospital to make sure you are getting better.

Also, don't hospitals provide hospital gowns? A lot of these stories have family members bringing folks changes of clothes. These are not US hospitals.
@defender40042 күн бұрын
@@cyndicook7755I don’t know about US hospitals but here in Germany hospitals do have these gowns that are open in the back. It’s for surgery or emergency admittance. And then family will bring you PJ’s, night gown, sweat pants things like that. And sanitary stuff like tooth brush and so on of course. And of course nurses are going to care for you. But a patient might feel lonely and wants some moral support. That’s what visits are for.

As someone who had appendicitis, they will actually not let you out the hospital until you fart in order to make sure all that gas they pumped into you for the surgery is out.

Very true. And a burst appendix is much more serious than a acute appendicitis...

Appendicitis is definitely life threatening if you wait too long to go to the hospital and have surgery. It's a very serious condition.
