This is a painful one. My younger sister is EXACTLY like this younger sister character. Thankfully my parents had no obvious favorites and curbed her accordingly but we’ve no idea where her sense of entitlement came from. It’s got even worse since she moved out at 18 and had no one to pop her inflated ego. The family pretty much cut ties after she threw the mother of all bridezilla fits after her wedding and found out that the family was not gonna pitch in and buy her a house just because she was pregnant.

My sister has a similar problem. She was fighting with my mom up until she died. My sister expected our parents to hand her the down payment for a house (in her area started houses are 2 million and down payment would be 20%). Our parents were never wealthy. They paid for about half of college and said that was it. She also insisted on them paying for her wedding (marriage was over in a year) even though I paid for my very cheap one as they said. She pitched a tantrum and got her way. No matter what they did it was never enough. She is a very bitter nasty 50 something now. We are NC by her choice (thank goodness such peace for me)

@@BusArch42 It sucks for parents with these kinds of kids. You always have those bystanders that criticize their child rearing when sometimes the kid is just bad. My parents raised over a dozen kids and my little sister is the only one who is an entitled self serving monster of a person. Not saying the rest of us are angels but we knew if we wanted something we either had to pay for it ourselves or at least go halvsies with the parents. My youngest brother is a problem too but again, it all happened once they left the house and made bad friends and life choices.

Okay, it’s bad enough for them to ask Sophie for the venue, but her wedding gown? That dress is specifically made for someone, it probably won’t fit the sister without some serious alterations, which would cost more with the specific designer. my mom owns a bridal shop in our town so I learned some things from her.

I was just thinking that myself, Tina is probably a different shape and size from Sophie, so she definitely would have to get the dress altered. I could just imagine it if Tina did wear the dress designed for Sophie, it would have been hilarious if Tina had to walk out in a dress that was either too big or too small for her.

Ex monster mommy and Tina one day turned up and crashed Sophie's family dinner with her husband by intentionally contaminating her soup and making a run for it with Tina to Mexico. But of course thanks to the security cameras, Tina and MM and Tina were dragged away by air Marshall's and undercover police before their plane could depart. They lost their home, savings, Tina had been served paper which meant rock bottom red in debt. The stress of it all eroded the mental stability for both of them. Today, all the inmates and prison warden are deeply disturbed of two crazy criminal lunatics running amok, screeching, crying, and laughing all at the same time, having sing-song conversations with ghosts using Spanglish and singing La Cucharacha over and over in a sinister voice. The end.

@cayenigma
@cayenigma 2 жыл бұрын
@@philipr1567 That is interesting. Here in Finland a step parent, or adoptive parents are not related to the child. One needs to be related by blood. They DO get visiting rights (hospital) and all legal rights, but they are not part of the family tree.
@philipr1567
@philipr1567 2 жыл бұрын
@@cayenigma - As far as I understand it, here in the UK parents by blood are legally responsible for a child unless a court decides otherwise. A step-parent may take on responsibilities for a child but does not have rights (unless a court makes him or her a legal guardian). Adoptive parents have responsibilities and the legal right to make decisions on behalf of the child. In extreme cases a court can appoint a legal guardian with the authority to make decisions on behalf of a child (whether they are related or not). Once a child reaches the age of 18 (or 21 in some cases) legal rights and responsibilities mostly stop, and people make their own decisions about their relationships. In a family tree, blood is everything. Step-relatives and spouses of blood-relatives are 'add-ons'. Just for fun, try figuring out how you might draw my family tree, with the 'add-ons': My grandmother was Joan (1905-1969). My father was Jeremy (1929-1971). My mother is still living. In 1942 Joan married Winston. Winston became my father's stepfather. My parents married in 1955 and divorced in 1962. After the divorce Jeremy married Angela. Angela became my stepmother (even though I never met her) Joan died in 1969 and Jeremy died in 1971. In 1972 Winston married Angela. This means that my father's stepfather married my father's widow. In other words, my stepmother married my grandmother's husband. Genealogy is fascinating, but it's the interesting or strange stories in family history that makes it such fun for me!"

I was wondering what a "belssing" was other than a typo - until I realised it was the echoing sound like a large bell ringing coming from inside Cathy and Tina's empty heads. And empty hearts too for that matter. How could they think their insane demands would be met? Oh, wait, that's easy. They're both narcissists who think the world revolves around them.

My mother liked giving my stuff away to one of her sister’s daughters all the time. Aunt didn’t know it wasn’t a willing tithe. One year I gave the pool of stuff to my friends. And it hit the fan. I was willing to hand down stuff, WHEN I WAS DONE WITH IT. The wardrobe jewelry box incident also capped it. It had stayed in the box and was handed over that way, I repeated the words I’d overheard. I can feel for the older sister having her mother and sister trying to rip her wedding off so hard. Sis was paying for it with her fiancé, mom and spoiled brat had no right to demand anything be given to them.

To all those woman the wedding is just a show. The dress, the ring, the venue, the whole sharade. All the things that dont mean anything. Mariage is not that fancy sharade. And then they are shocked that their mariage didn't work. If she is not paying for her crap she doesn't get nothing. Just cut them off parents, sister, all of them

We did a planned elopement to Las Vegas. We were too poor to pay for a real wedding. The reception I did at our apartment and I did all the food. I got zero help from family. My sister was supposed to help with the reception and went out drinking the night prior so she was hung over. Another friend of mine ended up being my only help. My only regret (28 years later) is not buying an actual dress. My daughters wanted to see what I wore and a cream suit was not really what they expected.

@@BusArch42 my grandparents had no reception, no venue, no dress, no rings. They took money, coins and took it to the blacksmith to make rings out of that. It was weddnsday, during the Mass they got maried and later went to work to the vinyard. Never had other rings. They lived together throug so much till the death. Lost two little kids to a desiese, raised two, had grandkids, great grandkids.

Yeah. Clearly, Cathy has a golden girl and it's Tina. Poor Sophie.......I can't imagine growing up with a narcissistic mother and sister. Not sure about dad, but yeah. Sophie was right to stand up for herself and if that toxic family decided to disown her for being so "selfish"(projection at its finest), then good riddance to them. After Update: Cathy and Tina got exactly what they deserved. Cathy, a lifetime of atonement and Tina, a ruined "wedding" and a "deadbeat" husband(although I think he's not really a bad guy minus the grave robbing, and honestly, I hope he leaves her)and father wasn't even OP's/Sophie's father, just Tina's. Like I said, good riddance to the lot of them. They all deserve each other. And I hope OP aka Sophie lives a long life full of pure, sweet happiness with her real family, including her dear husband and his family! ❤️💕❤️
