It's pretty odd in these stories that all the villain has to do is run a vacuum once in a while, wash a sink, cook some mac and cheese, etc and they'll be a millionaire but instead they go to such great lengths to pass off even such minor trivial tasks. As a middle aged adult whose lived alone for most of my life it became pretty obvious that I have a spotless clean apartment with only about 1 to 2 hours of housework per week. Who can't do 1 to 2 hours of simple easy tasks once per week? Cooking food is the most annoying and time consuming but even that is not too bad because you can make what you want and spice and flavor it to your own desire. I say "annoying" because it's not optional when you do it whereas vacuuming etc you can do when you feel like it but hunger is on a constant schedule.

I love learning to cook and trying to cook... it's the CLEANUP after that I hate so much. I hate doing the dishes, though at least now I got good cookware that I can clean easier, so it helps. Still an annoying chore because for some reason, that's the one when no matter when I'm doing it, I get the most interruptions and distractions. It's like the sink has a homing beacon I can't find on it or something. I need to learn to put music on and my phone on "do not disturb" so I can finish in one go and not get distracted.

Also she dropped out of college, he is rich, rich people check their partners without them knowing. That is the way of making sure the partner is honest and legit. He could check with the college. He would find out that she dropped out and that she wasn't atending classes. After 10 years of no contact she suddenly worries that her family will mess with her life? And it wasn't odd to him from the begining? If someone has no contact with their family I would check it. It has to be something. There must be a reason. Someone screewed up the partner or the family. I would check it right away. She should just not tell him all the lies. She could say she wanted one thing and the family another. So they parted ways. Since she was not part of the family she worked alone and lived. That is the reason she didn't go to college. Thinking she can allways go to college later if she wants. She could say something like that. Or that at that time she wanted to explore the world, learn from experience or some other crap. Not lie about people she stole from. And everything would be fine.
