Idk if you know this or not since you said “they are exactly the same” the new one you can squeeze it now closer to the tip and it gives you short cuts, and it can also help you make a thicker or thinner stroke by squeezing and holding.

Some (minor) extra features. They also made the older gen pencils incompatible with the new iPad Air and Pro, so they’re basically ripping their costumers off. By kinda forcing them to buy a new pencil with their new iPad if they want to use one😅😭
