Hi, Donna! I baked this cake for Easter Sunday dinner. My family loved it! I used cream cheese instead of milk and added vanilla pudding as well as a caramel drizzle on top the vanilla glaze. I love the versatility of your basic pound cake recipe, but I think your techniques are just as important especially your method for creaming butter and sugar. The half teaspoon of baking powder makes the crumb just a little more tender. It's very nice. You are a great teacher. I enjoyed baking this cake with you.

I'm a 35 year old mom of a busy two year old and loving wife of a loving husband. I was nearly killed in a car accident by someone on their phone. Although I love cooking and baking due to all the pain and surgeries I kinda lost my zest for life. I discovered your page and I'm thankful cause the way my husband and daughter follow me around the kitchen while I'm mixing, baking, and checking on my cakes are priceless. Thanks Ms.Donna......I hate the pan I bought cause the the inside piece slides out but sometimes my cake batter drips out the bottom. How can I stop that.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. Glory to God that you are still here. Happy blessed new year. It sounds like you have the same Bundt pan I have. I had that issue too. I just learned recently that u hold it by the outer tube not the handle or it will cause it to detach. Also put it on top of sheet pan when baking in oven to avoid spillage.

you done out did yourself! i thought of doing an apple cobbler pound cake after i made my peach cobbler pound cake. but you gave me a great idea with adding extra apples on top. you know i thought about baking a crumble topping with oatmeal, brown sugar, and nuts putting it ontop then adding a glaze. maybe try that next time you make this!

Hey Donna, beautiful cake. Tip to prevent apples from sinking to the bottom: cut apples smaller, add 1 or 2 tablespoons of flour to lightly coat, then fold the apples into the batter.

Cornstarch is another great ingredient to thicken up your sauce. I use it quite frequently and it doesn't chance the taste.
