Apple Pie Spice | Fall Spice Mix

Apple pie spice is so easy to make at home and can be added to so many fall desserts! Sprinkle apple pie spice in oatmeal's, coffees, or on sliced apples. Adjust the spices to your personal preference, but I found the below measurements to be perfect. Cardamom is also great to add to apple pie spice, but is not found in traditional apple pie spice found in stores. Make a double batch of apple pie spice if you know you will be using it in many recipes this fall and store in a cool dry place.
Ingredients
1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp ground cardamom (optional)

This looks like a great combination/recipe. In the fall I like to make up apple pie filling and the portion it into ziplock bags and freeze them. It make making an apple pie during the year much quicker as all I need to do is make the pastry and the fill the pie shell with the pre made filling. Thanks for sharing. God bless. 🙂👍🏻💕🙏🏻

Thank you for this recipe which I'm sure I'll be able to use frequently BUT, I'm watching from France and I don't really understand what "allspice" is. Is it only ONE particular spice that is called "Allspice?" How confusing! 😊 I don't think I can purchase it here, so, what could be a substitute? I've just subbed!

Hey Isabelle! Thank you so much! This spice is so perfect this time of year 😊 Allspice is one spice and the flavor resembles cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon. That being said, you can use 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg, and 1/4 tsp of ground cloves to make allspice. If you dont have those spices, you can also just use ground cinnamon, but it will not have the complexity of allspice. Let me know if you make this!
