Home Advisor isn't even honest with customers. They put 3 fake reviews so I could start with a 5 star rating. It was a pain getting them removed. I had just started my business so I didn't have former customers yet. They asked for character references so they could give me a 5 star rating. They pulled things my references said to them and turned them into fake roofing reviews. If I knew how horrible they would be and how much money I'd waste, I would have never signed up!

I live in Syracuse NY and we get more snow than any other city in the US and I had Home Advisor call me in the middle of January and told me they had 40 landscape leads for my company ! So I played along with them and acted like I was interested and they tried to sell me leads on lawn care, installation, hardscape, you name it ! I then tell them we have 3 feet of snow on the ground and its 10 degrees outside and FK off and never call me again ! They still call me, email me, they are a joke !

Home Advisor advertises my business name from 2008 when we did other services. The services they list are incorrect the address and phone number is wrong! I spoke to them to update it and they said they could not. Even if I hired them for their services, they could not change it! its crazy! It confuses customers seeking me out. I love my business name and don't want to change it. Home Advisor needs to be accountable for errors but more importantly, they should not be stealing business profiles and branding to self promote. You can never forget all of these lead generation services have one goal. Separating you from your money. They don't care if you get the business. They don't even care what you do. The only thing they care about is you paying either the monthly fee or the per click charge. A business model like that is destined to fail every time

Yeah I had to call credit card company and mark them as a fraudulent charge they just wouldn't stop even after I canceled

Iac owns not only homeadvisor but also tons of online directories. When u sign up there is syndicated and non syndicated exact match. So basically with the syndicated xm leads they use ur company name and if ur leads are turned off or u cancel they will have a metered number and that customer trying to find u will call that metered number. Ha will then answer as ur company name and say ur are not available and send that customer out as a lead. If ur leads are on and u r approved if a customer is looking for u on their own u r gona be charged an xm rate for a customer who was searching specifically for u in the first place. They will use ur likeness either way. If u cancel u have to call them and tell them to remove ALL syndication !! They will tell u some bs like u got to call google. MAKE SURE U FULLY CANCEL UR ACCOUNT!!!

It’s almost impossible. They will lie. They will say you canceled, 6 months later you will reactivated. You call to complain and they will tell iko you paused not canceled.

The reason why Home Adviser use this man’s name of his business and his address is because this man used to be on Home Adviser and Angie’s list and I’m sorry I know we’ve talked about it before but if you read the contract everything you’re saying is in black-and-white that’s why all these charges keep getting dropped in the courts I do respect everything you do video wise but you really got a hard hangup on Home Adviser I’ve been on HomeAdvisor now three years End it has worked fabulous some people can work it some people can’t end of story don’t get mad at my comment I got nothing but respect for you this is just me telling you what I know about those two fellows
