In addition, apple snails are a risk to people because they may carry rat lungworm, which can cause a potentially fatal disease in humans if eaten raw or undercooked. In addition, the snails' egg masses contain a toxin that can cause skin and eye rashes. There are only some snails or slugs which are poisonous or harmful to humans. However, touching the rest or them CAN pass on the infecting agents. Snails and slugs may not look dangerous, but they can kill if they carry a parasitic nematode (Angiostrongylus cantonensis) known as the rat lungworm. People, especially children, should be cautioned not to handle snails and slugs, and if they do to wash their hands thoroughly afterwards. Snails can harbor parasites that can potentially infect people2, especially if the snail is wild-caught. Because of this, you should not only wash your hands before handling a snail to keep them safe, but also afterwards to protect yourself. You should never kiss your snail or allow children to put them in their mouth. Apple snails are very easy when it comes to food and they eat almost anything they can tear pieces off and put in their mouth. Vegetables like cucumber, spinach, carrots and lettuce, fish food, dead fishes, other snails and their eggs, algae, brine shrimps, they eat it all. The apple snails are not hermaphrodite, like most snails, meaning that they have two genders. The male snail has two kinds of sperm. One is for attaching onto the female's egg, and the function of the other sperm is unknown. The female's eggs are stored in the "ovaria" which is near the digestive gland Don't worry, they can easily survive out of the water for more then a week, but they risk damaging their shell when hitting the ground. An important thing, often forgotten, is to provide an air space above the water to allow the snail to leave the water to deposit her eggs. Raw snail eggs may contain harmful bacteria or parasites that can cause foodborne illness or infection. If you want to eat snail eggs, it is best to cook them thoroughly to ensure that they are safe to eat. Cooking the eggs will kill any bacteria or parasites that may be present and will make the eggs safe to consume Egg masses can be destroyed by crushing them and scraping them into the water with any implement such as a stick or a boat paddle, making sure the eggs sink, while avoiding touching them with bare skin,” the Wildlife Commission said. “Adult snails can be destroyed by crushing or freezing. Re-incubate the eggs that are yet to hatch for another 15 days, if after then, they still don't get hatched, then you might have to discard them as they probably will never hatch. The truth is, not all the eggs are expected to hatch, but a higher percentage will hatch when you stick to the right procedures. Birds love to eat slug and snail eggs, so all you need to do is scatter them on the ground or, even better, on a bird table. There's no need to squash the eggs as birds will simply gobble them up whole. Once the eggs have been internally fertilised, the female apple snail will climb out of the water to lay their eggs. The eggs are laid into a bright pink sack and develop out of water. Here they are out of aquatic predators way until they hatch and re-enter the water to start their life. Apple Snails are dangerous to humans because the snail can carry rat lungworm, which can cause a potentially fatal disease if the snails are eaten raw or undercooked. The snails egg masses also contain a toxin which can cause skin and eye rashes. Unfortunately, no pesticide will selectively eliminate the snails. Hand removal of the bright pink egg masses can effectively reduce their numbers. Egg masses should be scraped off and crushed or otherwise destroyed. Hand picking adult snails is effective when possible, although they are usually submerged. About 60% of the eggs will also become runts. Runt snails' bodies don't grow, but their organs do, which causes them to have short and painful lives. If you notice you have runts, the best option is to cull them. It's not cruel to crush or freeze eggs since they're not fully developed. About raw salmon: Scombroid food poisoning, also known as simply scombroid, is a foodborne illness that typically results from eating spoiled fish. Symptoms may include flushed skin, sweating, headache, itchiness, blurred vision, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Raw salmon is considered high in omega-3's, so its perfect if you're trying to improve your health. Omega 3's lower your risk of heart disease by reducing inflammation in the blood vessels and joints. Plus, lower inflammation in your body is always a good thing. No one wants to feel puffy and bloated. Eating raw or undercooked salmon can put you at risk of contracting foodborne illnesses, such as salmonellosis, norovirus, and Vibrio infections. Salmonella is a type of bacteria that can be found in raw or undercooked salmon, and it can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps Raw or undercooked salmon can be contaminated with bacteria, parasites, and other disease-causing agents. For this reason, the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) recommends cooking all seafood until it reaches an internal temperature of Another of the risks of eating raw salmon is bacteria. Two common kinds of food poisoning that people can experience from eating raw fish are salmonella and Vibrio vulnificus. While salmonella is more common, Vibrio vulnificus is a type of bacteria that lives in warm saltwater. ❤!!BYE I hope it helps you alot!!❤
