I currently have a 4K at 28 inch, for 150ppi goodness at 100% scaling. 200ppi at 125% scaling means "150ppi" still just sharper. 30 and 32 getting too large, 26 too small, 27 may be acceptable. I'd take 30 but in 2160 height for 21:9. But if I do pay for such a panel I want 90Hz at least, and absoltuely a 10bit panel too. And not super glossy. Still good we gte more choices.

@ZeerakImran3 ай бұрын
The word 'need' just means want. We don't need to be alive. That's a fact. So in other words, you don't want this monitor but others do. Saying you shouldn't want this monitor, isn't that strong right? I understand what you mean but you have to understand what I mean too. I 'need' to have a monitor that's better than the rest of the monitors on the industry which look like they're stuck in the early 2000s compared to a cheap laptop display. A cheap laptop display makes monitors look trash. The monitor industry is really behind and have little to no incentive to improve. Gamers are the majority of budget buyers and the industry caters to them with rgb. That pretty much tells us everything we need to know. Everyone else who really wants a decent monitor will be doing so for their work, in which case they'll be expected to pay in the thousands as it's a business purchase. Those that want to view content without feeling like they've developed cataracts will just have to put up with it or buy a laptop. To put it into perspective, I'm typing on a macbook pro m1 and it has a microled display with great contrast, 120hz and 1600 nits HDR brightness, great colour accuracy and range, 254ppi... Perfect. Now in the monitor world, there's nothing that exists as an alternative at any budget. Not to mention how thin this display in the laptop is. It even has a cutout for the notch and uniform thin bezels all around. In the monitor world, even with a budget of £3 million, you won't get a better display than this. Our phone displays are even better. The technology is there for them to make an oled 120hz 27inch 4k monitor. They just won't. Or if they do, they will ruin it somehow by making it a curved monitor or not have colour accuracy or brightness... Making larger monitors is expensive compared to smaller ones but its not that much more and it can be done, they're just choosing not to. We have 42inch 120hz lg c1, c2 tvs. We even have 8k tvs. If we can bring them down to 27 inches or even 32inches, problem solved. They could even combine the display in my current laptop with another 2 in portrait and boom. You have a perfect microled 120hz monitor with exceptional brightness, ppi and colour accuracy. The cost will still be cheaper than the apple xdr monitor. A macos native software solution which combines the 3 displays in portrait and uses them in landscape won't be difficult for apple to design. Additionally, they also have a 16inch display in the larger laptop variant. I'm not sure if they can work around the bezels but there are much easier ways of doing this. We have flexible oled panels at this point in time. I understand that they're not perfect but they're way better than whatever is considered "exceptional" in the monitor space at the moment. I tried so many of these monitors and ended up confused. How could they even review these monitors without putting them back in the box and quitting. The bottom line is, most of these reviewers say one thing and then use another for themselves. They don't have a stake in mine or your success or happiness. They know that people don't watch their reviews for purchase decisions, they watch it for entertainment. If it's for purchase decision, they can't be blamed because they never explicitly said whether you should buy it. They don't even say if it's good or bad they just set a tone. I settled with the studio display in the end because I had to, not because I wanted to throw away all that money. It's a shame but I've had mine for 1-2 years now and I can sell my phone and live with a dumb phone but this display is something I can't get myself to sell. Also 5k is 75% more pixels than 4k and these monitors last a very long time. Displays (good ones anyway not the competitors) last a very long time. Specially apple displays. They don't wear out unlike laptops (even though macbooks and iphones last a very long time too). They also hold their value for this reason. If you like, you didn't spend £1200 on a studio display, you just paid £150 per year of ownership for 2-3 years and then you stop paying. You sell it for most of its value. Also, definitely buy these second hand and I highly recommend the vesa mount version. A reviewer would say I recommend this monitor to a professional but I will be honest. I recommend this monitor to everyone who uses a computer for more than 30mins a day. Doesn't mean you should buy it. Only reason not to buy it is because you can't afford it. Same reason we're not living in a mansion. I highly recommend those too. Can't not recommend one because it's too expensive. Can't say we don't need one because we can live without it. We can live without living too. Nothing is necessary.

This sounds like a lot of compromise to make. At this point, anyone considering shelling out $1099 on a monitor would do themselves a service by saving a few more months to pony up an extra $400 for a much better experience

In my country Apple Studio Display with a better stand costs 2400 euros, so 1100 euros for this one looks fair

This is at a price point just below a ASD - at least in Canadian dollars. Why try and save a few hundred dollars and just get the real deal and not have to deal with the possibility of dealing with a defective product and warranty issues. It just is not worth it. And as someone pointed out, it is nowhere near half the cost of the ASD. Try like 80%.

It's about the same price though. It's about $1900 shipped here to Canada with a stand, which is the same price I'd pay from Apple for theirs. Kind of a ripoff for a Chinese product to me.

@@NOlimitsON Only one port is Thunderbolt 3 /4, USB-C. You can only connect a mouse or keyboard to the other USB-A and USB-C ports. The monitor does not have a webcam or sound system. Kuycom must first prove itself as a brand of good monitors.

@@keesswier212 The mac studio or any macbook or laptop has bluetooth and other io via a docker at least. Not much to miss. 3rd party speakers are always better than any monitor mounted anyways. What makes a good monitor for this tier is not based on the factors you outlined.
