I connected Time Capsule to a Uverse modem and for some reason my Mac Mini would not pick up a connection. I hadn't tried to connect to it from my iPhone, but I'll give it a try now after watching your video. If not, it could be something else where the modem is not wanting to recognize the Time Capsule. I hope this comes in handy. Thanks!

Hi there, i'm getting one of these tomorrow, my question is, does this need to be always plugged into the ethernet connection on my modem? As Apple don't even supply an ethernet cable it was news to me that i had to plug it in via ethernet at all? sorry for being so ignorant!!

Thanks for the info Peyton. I have Time capsule V2 (The smaller one) and used it for wireless router around the house. I changed computer and just can't get rid of "No internet connection" any chance you do a video with suggested IP/ethernet/general settings to make it connect to internet shared from a Mac? I have tried so many different combinations but can't get it to work? Thanks if you can.

...mi duda es si conectas el time capsule directo a la coneccion de la pared o necesitas conectarlo al router que ya tenías en casa?...pq si es de la segunda manera, entonces tendría dos aparatos dando wifi en casa...es absurdo. La idea sería eliminar el router anterior y cambiarlo por el apple.

No, you can only backup from a computer.

will an xbox one wirelessly save data (i.e.. Games and Movies) to the time capsule and is it mandatory for router to time capsule connection?

Xbox One cannot back up to a Time Capsule. The Time Capsule is a router itself, so all you need to do is connect it to your modem. I suppose you could use a Time Capsule as just a backup drive (not as a router), but you would be wasting your money.

An Apple Express is not a modem. Your internet service provider should provide you with a modem. The Time Capsule works just fine for gaming.

You can plug the Time Capsule into the modem, and you should be able to get a WiFi signal from any room in your house.

+John Tratnyek The modem is the box that plugs into your wall. The modem will connect to your internet service provider and get you connected to the internet. The router will connect to your modem, take the internet connection, and broadcast it as Wi-Fi so you can connect to the internet wirelessly.

+Nick Hahn Yes; that is what I do. Make sure you have your modem/router set to bridge mode. If you're unable to modify the settings, your internet service provider should be able to do it.

Hi, Im trying to restore my iTunes from my phone to a new iMac computer. Does this device allow me to do this? My old comp died so I can't back anything up. Its all on my phone.

This isn't the device you'd want to use. What you might want is a program called PhoneView. This program will allow you to plug your phone into your computer, and import all your music from your phone to your computer. I made a video on this program. Search "PhoneView Review"
