‼️‼️ if this don’t work connect ur phone as the remote then go to settings > remote & devices> remote & press forget remote> after that get ur Apple TV remote & hold the menu & volume up button at the same time It’ll start pairing & ask u to bring it closer ur welcome🙏🏽

when I try to connect my phone with the Apple TV it asks me to put the code on my phone into Apple TV settings... but I can't do that if I can't connect my phone (or remote) as remote..

Your way got it at least to turn on!! My toddler disconnected the Wi-Fi (“forget this network”) 🤦🏻‍♀️ Have been using phone remote forever because toddler lost the apple remote. Is there any way around this? I just need to get the network paired again. 😫 Please and thank you!

What worked for me was holding the menu and the TV screen button together directly in front of the Apple TV after I charged the remote for about 30mins.
