Apple Vision Pro Audio Recorded Directly to Logic Pro on MacBook Pro

How is the latency on this? I would imagine the bluetooth midi adds a negligible amount, but I would imagine routing the audio through airplay could be adding a lot

It wasn’t that noticeable as I was making the single line recording. The next test for me will be to try recording from multiple sources and see how well it syncs. I will admit when I found this solution I became worried this still wouldn’t be a viable option to make the Vision Pro a playable instrument. However, you could route audio out for a surround sound experience if you desired. There is another possibility I would like to explore which is to get the developer’s right audio band with a USB port on the side to see if it would transfer audio. From my understanding it doesn’t do anything but transfer data from the AVP to a computer for developers to analyze performance of their apps. Downside is I don’t want more cables hanging from my head.

How did you record this video? It didn't look like you were using the screen recorder in the control center and you were mirroring audio to your iPhone and you were still able to record a video with audio?

I connected my iPhone 15 via USB-C cable to my iConnectivity iConnect Audio 4+ interface. I’m guessing any interface will work. Since the audio from the Vision Pro was also being mirrored on the phone, the interface picked it up as audio from the phone and transferred it to my MacBook where I set up an audio track in Logic and recorded.

So the screen recording is actually from my phone recording of what I was mirroring from the Vision Pro. The Vision Pro wouldn’t let me simultaneously screen record while I was mirroring to the iPhone. It was just a guess on my part that it would work to screen record on the phone what was being mirrored to it. Thank you for asking these questions because I want more people to know how to do this. It then can help to make the Vision Pro seem more useful to more people.

Awesome! That’s what I’m looking for as well. I will have a short video soon of a simple 25 sec song where I used Bluetooth MIDI notes on Logic with the destination set as the Animoog Galaxy synth on the AVP. It had so little latency both with the Bluetooth MIDI and the Airplay for audio routing that I didn’t even notice it. I want to use it as well for live performances if possible.
