I preordered one at almost 65 years of age because I think this is an iPhone moment even though this may not be the best device long term. I was in line to get the original iPhone & I think this might be my last chance to be on the bleeding edge of a new computing era. I’m hoping it gets good third party app support & blossoms like the iPhone & iPad did. I bought the 1TB version because I’m not sure what storage usage will be. With the AVP & Zeiss Rx inserts & tax, it was close to $4400 total. After fighting the payment approval a few times, I was successful & have a pickup time on Feb.5th even though I started my order right at launch.

Congrats. Worst case scenario you'll be able to sell this thing break even or a little loss -if it doesn't work for you and you resell within the first 6 months maybe longer. It's going to be sold out for a while and unavailable overseas for a while as well

@@shalimkhan2023 It’s not exactly. I feel it’s more like if iPhone 1 had shipped with an App Store day 1 and they gave the world an iPhone .5 6 months before the “real” one. This is way more than early adopter price, it’s way beyond the ballpark. I say this as someone who pursued research in school with the HoloLens, who bought an Oculus CV1. I really want it to develop, but Apple knows it wont hit critical mass until the apps are there. Plus I figure with how secretive they are they knew they couldn’t keep it secret with so many companies like they have with other projects. So they just put it out for everyone in polished but “incomplete” experience form. The starting at 256 also felt like a silent mark.

So I can’t use it.😢 I tried to cancel my pre-order last night, but it was already packed for shipping. But I have 14 days to return it after it arrives. The best review that I have seen today. Congratulations 🎉I bought my Vision Pro at 5 am. I’m very excited. One thing, I did the face scan in low light and the measurements showed 25W. After my purchase, I did the face scan again to go inside the store again just to see availability stock. Well, I did it with better light and guess what? The three time showed 23W. I didn’t want to cancel my Vision Pro order and I couldn’t see where to change the size. How I fix it? My wife will share the device with me and she use glasses. She scanned her face with good lighting and fortunately her size was the same one I got wrong with my Vision Pro package. She will use that one and I ordered one with the right fit for me 23W. 🎉

Similar bug here: It tells me 21W every time I scan for the Vision Pro, but 25W if I scan for the light seal. I called them and they cannot change the size manually. They tell you to make the order again, but then you make the scan again and get the same problem. Wish you could choose manually. And wish the light seal was a reasonable price, like $50 maximum, not $200! That way you could get a few, and try them out, and get one for a family member so you can change them out.

I am seriously excited about VR and AR and definitely have the money to buy a Vision Pro, but even I have to realize that $4K is way more than I should spend on any toys. $350/mo is more than I paid for my car payments lol I’ll stick with my psvr for now, no matter how excited I am about the Vision Pro. The most that I would’ve paid for it would be about $1500-1700 knowing that tax will push it closer to $2K. Besides all that, I wear glasses, so another $150 on top of the extreme price. The problem with VR is the weight. The headset will become very uncomfortable after one hour use according early reviewers. Once reviewers get the headset without Apple demo how well will it work??? I don't think there is a usb-c port on the actual headset. The only usb-c port is on the battery pack to charge it. I think everything would have to be done wirelessly.

I had successfully purchased an Apple Vision Pro 1TB model and AppleCare. I was all set to happily receive it on 2/2/24. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my order because Zeiss doesn’t yet support my eyewear prescription due to prism. So, for now I do save $4.5K+ 😂. But, I hope to buy one maybe sometime later this year. I know what you mean about getting angry at slight bugs 😒 Rn there’s a bug in ProMotion on iPhone 13/14/15 Pro and Pro Maxes, and occasionally iPad Pro, where there’s a slight micro stutter as you scroll through certain apps and swipe between them using the bar on the bottom of the screen. As an old dog Apple fan I know to avoid version 1.0 of any Apple product. Think of it another way. Keep this thing in perfect condition and it might be work even more as a collector's item. Great review. I’m happy 150 3D movies will be available plus Apple TV at launch. Having Apple TV as a resource guarantees a steady infusion of new material. The problem we found with Spacial Audio was the material was only as good as the producers, not the format itself. Exceptional Spacial Video from James Cameron and Martin Scorsese shows us how phenomenal Spacial Video can be but how many bring that level of talent to their productions? I think sports and horror movies will take 3D viewing to an unimaginable level.
